He ends up as an announcer like Gruden - no NFL team wants him as a GM and thats what he will insist on

You must not be familiar with Kelly, there is no way in hell he would be an announcer or work in any capacity on tv.

Youre right Im not - just curious why you say that - I never really cared for him at Oregon either -- Still think he high tailed it out of there the way Pete Carroll did at USC -- the NCAA was after him

He's not a talker.....the last place you will find him is on some network as an announcer or something like that. It would be like suggesting Belichick would take a job as a circus announcer

The other part about wanting GM control is accurate, but after a year of sitting out of coaching he will either curb back his demands for that control and just be a head coach in the NFL or some NFL franchise will be dumb enough to give him a shot at it.

Just because VN rules require that this word be mentioned on every thread involving coaching changes............ Gruden.

Being reported he has no desire for the GM role again. Just wants to coach. He is staying in the NFL for sure

Weird that is being reported because Lurie offered him to just be the head coach and give up the GM duties and he declined.

Are you suggesting you were joking? If so then sorry I missed it but a whole lot of idiots visit these parts.

Of course I was joking.

Unless it happens.

Then I'm an insider.

You ruined it.

I said the same thing to my dad last night, chuckling, when I saw it on ESPN. My mom overheard me and freaked out - WHAT?!! YOU KNOW THIS?!! DABO IS LEAVING CLEMSON?!!! AHHH?!!!!

I had to slow her roll before she throws it all over facebook (she's 65 and has become ridiculously gullible in her old age).

Don't be like my mom.

I wasn't doubting you, it just didn't jive with the situation with his firing. Would think that if he were going to just be a head coach, he would have stayed in Philly. I think we may have been a little too quick to fire the guy.

Probably concerned about the new GM firing him. At least this way he gets an early start and can choose any NFL team he wants.

Not sure why some of you think that Kelly would be that much different than Malzahn in terms of offensive philosophy and neither one is great at recruiting.

Who said they would be different in terms of offensive philosophy or that either were great at recruiting?

My thoughts. No school like coaching changes as much as Auburn.

Yep. Auburn ought to simply fire their coach every year...this might very well prove to be an effective approach to eliminate most of the down years between the championship years.

It would also add more entertainment to our lives.
