A trip to Knoxville amidst coaching rumors and a disgruntled fan base and a stadium with thousands of empty seats. You are more optimistic than I.

There will be tons of Bama fans there. They are well aware of our discontent here and know that there could be some tickets available. I'd like to think no matter how bad we're playing, people would show up for the Bama game.

After making an official visit to Notre Dame last month, four-star defensive tackle Chris Bonds couldn't hide his feelings.

"I'm not going to lie, I really loved it up there," said the 6-foot-4, 262-pounder from Columbia, S.C., in the days after seeing South Bend.

Bonds is going to Ttown for the Ole Miss game this weekend. It is the first big home game (-Kentucky) for the undefeated tide and will be crazy down there. He will leave impressed no doubt.

Then next week, he will get to see the tide beat the hell out of UT in Neyland.
Might as well just forget about Bonds going to UT.

I actually saw Chris and Tajh before the game. I didnt get to talk to Boyd because he was high fiving (sp?) fans, but I did talk to Chris and his mom. Well, I assume it was his mother, she was wearing his high school letterman's jacket and looked to be about the right age. I asked him if he was going to Tennessee and he laughed and said probably. I told him he would get alot of pt as a freshman and could possibly even start. He said "Yeah, that's what they tell me." I told him that we needed him badly and all he had to do was look at our roster. All in all he was a very personable kid. I was very impressed. Boyd just looked like he was loving every minute of the atmosphere outside the stadium. This was right after the Vol Walk.

I couldnt get one of Boyd because he was kind of going from fan to fan to fast for me to follow, but this is Chris. Seemed like a really good kid.

"Coach Brooks and coach Caldwell have talked to me a lot about the opportunity, and that's something that's attractive," Bonds acknowledged. "They didn't promise me anything, but they told me I would have a chance to play early there if I worked hard.

"Robert Ayers told me the same thing, he was telling me that they're losing a lot of guys off this year's team and it would be a good chance for a freshman to play there next year."

if we get this kid teamed up with Dan Williams, the Juco guys, and ben martin, we can have a pretty good d-line the next couple years

After injuring his knee a year ago and suffering nagging injuries as a senior thus far, DE Chris Bonds (Columbia, S.C./Richland Northeast) has not been able to get back in the swing of things and drops out of the ESPNU 150.

I'm much more confident with bonds than I was a week ago. I thought it was UT v. SC and I didn't like our chances. now it looks like a UT, bama, ND battle and I like our chances better. basically with SC out of the top 3 I think we're the team to beat here.

When Bonds visited Bama, Saban invited him and his mother to his mansion for brunch. Bonds apparently wants to be an engineer and Saban fed him a bunch of BS about how good the engineer program was at Bama.

Poor kid, dirty Saban.
Auburn is the engineering school in bama. Good luck with that.

I think Tennessee's program would be better than either of those schools.

you think everyone is a bammer don't you...just go ahead and go through all the threads on this board and write bammer on them.

Midfielder is probably right, even though it's been well stated on this board that he'll be a bammer. But it does seem like he favors Bama over UT.

I actually think ND is a bigger threat. like I said I thought it was all SC until a couple days ago. Mike farrel says we're the team to beat for bonds.
