Imo I think Hart will at the least gauge his interest in returning. Their is and has always been interest with Pearl to return to the Vols and a few have always held a open spot for him to return but those few will have to convince the board for his return. If all are in agreement then look for his return percentage to greatly increase

Sounds about right.

My stance is that Cheek is a huge hurdle, if he gives it the green light it becomes very likely, you agree?

Fingers crossed

Look at it this way. I think Hart knows where his man is and I think from what I am told he is doing a nice job in convincing Cheek that he should come along for the ride. Hart played college basketball and knows what it takes to win at the game. He is also a very competitive AD who wants to win all the time. He will make the change and will not go an unproven route to make the proper hire.

Yes. If you clear that hurdle you could likely see him returning. I have heard he is becoming more open to it.
As the time draws closer I look for BP to make some overt public comments that are pro UT. More than usual, as Ive really never heard him say anything against the university.

Pearl is smart (save for meetings with NCAA investigators). He isn't going to burn any bridges coming off of a show-cause penalty. Even if he hated UT (which he obviously doesn't), he wouldn't say it, or even hint at it publicly. His best move is to slobber over any school that might ever be interested at this point.

I do think you are right in that we are likely to hear more and more from him in the coming weeks, especially the more obvious a coaching change becomes with every loss.

I was thinking the same thing when I read his comments. Where was his comments before? He's not an idiot. Hes basically adding fuel to the fire IMO
