Chris Ledlum commits to Vols

He’s not quite this caliber of player, but in terms of play style/body type, David Roddy at Colorado State I think is a good comp for Ledlum

Between Edwards and Jefferson, I would guess Jefferson is the most likely to leave.
Jefferson was redshirted. Why would leave? He won’t know his minutes until next season unlike BJ who had numerous opportunities to gain minutes.

JJJ replacement. He does what JJJ should have become using his GOD gifted body to get to rim and post every now and then. Great pickup stretch 4 in small lineup that attacks Rim. In CHRIST Alone
JJJ is a 3 who could slide to the 4 when needed. Ledlum will just have to play the 4 here. Won’t have the versatility that JJJ has guarding other positions.

Am I the only one who’s not that excited about Ledlum?
I’m going to remain skeptical till we see him here. I don’t have super high hopes for him unless he is able to improve his 3 point shot when he gets here since he’s limited with his size/athleticism. He will probably have to play a lot of minutes regardless until Estrella is ready. Really hope we can land Knecht.

I understand where you're coming from. Unless we're landing a proven high-major transfer, I'm not holding my breath on them being an instant positive difference maker - will need to wait and see imo. If we had a better history in the portal, it would be a different story. At the same time, I don't think it's fair for anyone to write off either of our new transfers; I def give the staff the benefit of the doubt even though my initial reaction is also meh.

This team is going to play small this year not going to play big lineup much.

No there's a small minority of negative nancy vols that aren't excited about anything our Vols do. Hell there were people saying it was time for Vescovi to move on...
I’d take Vescovi two more years if I could. Automatic 11-13 ppg guy. We hear every year about how coaches will figure him out, but again, averages that 11-13 point range. It’s a no brainer.

Y’all keep forgetting he is young, it’s not like he is 23 lol

Think how good Vescovi could be if he didn't have to expend so much energy in bringing the ball up the court a being the only really good 3 point shooter on the team. I look for him to have his best year this Fall.

Hopefully the injury bug doesn’t bite again. I think a lot of folks want to think his shoulder injury had no affect on his shot.

I am in the same camp. He is not going to be a difference maker. He might get you 5 or 6 points a game and give you experienced depth. Sub 70% free throw shooter and sub 30% 3pt shooter. It would have been nice if just once Tennessee got a difference maker out of the portal. Mizzou, Arkansas,Kentucky, Alabama, Texas A&M, Auburn, all got difference makers out of the portal last year. Ledlum is not a difference maker in the SEC.

Ledlum vs Nkoumoa at the 4. Well besides rebounding Nkoumoa has better stats all the way around. Plus Nkoumoa plays above the rim. I watched Harvard vs Kansas highlights and Ledlum defense is a little concerning. Nkoumoa has played 4 years against the best competition in college basketball. Ledlum has not. Yes Nkoumoa sometimes checks out but he is a overall better player.
