Chris Ledlum commits to Vols

I am in the same camp. He is not going to be a difference maker. He might get you 5 or 6 points a game and give you experienced depth. Sub 70% free throw shooter and sub 30% 3pt shooter. It would have been nice if just once Tennessee got a difference maker out of the portal. Mizzou, Arkansas,Kentucky, Alabama, Texas A&M, Auburn, all got difference makers out of the portal last year. Ledlum is not a difference maker in the SEC.

Lol, what a negative take on things. You have no clue how Ledlum will do at UT - nor do I for that matter, or anyone else. What matters is UT staff badly wanted Ledlum- that’s good enough for me. Also, UT advanced as far as or farther than any of the teams you mentioned in NCAA tourney. Success on the court is what matters.

That’s funny considering you was for sure Ledlum wasn’t coming here.

Now that he has, you’re downplaying his potential cause it doesn’t fit your criteria.

I would bet Ledlum stats are closer to what I said then anywhere near what he did at Harvard. He is nothing more then a roll player at best in the SEC and our roster. He looks a lot like EJ Anosike.

The only reason a "difference maker" is in the portal is for NIL money. Usually the guys in the portal are looking for more playing time or trying to prove themselves vs better competition. Guys who are studs on their current teams don't usually look to leave unless it's for money.

Criteria? No I wanted a PG and a difference maker out of the portal. Ledlum is neither

He’s not quite this caliber of player, but in terms of play style/body type, David Roddy at Colorado State I think is a good comp for Ledlum
Not near as good as David Roddy I wish he was David Roddy.

Well how can Arkansas, Kentucky, Auburn, Mizzou, Texas A&M, and Alabama get difference makers out of the portal and we can't? Because they all had difference makers out of the portal last year.

Barnes went out and got a high quality person. A guy that got into Harvard and that's fine. I want a high quality basketball player. I really wanted a high quality PG but that's not happening. I am not mad or freaking out. I just once would like to see Tennessee target a difference maker out of the portal. Just not Barnes style

Ledlum vs Nkoumoa at the 4. Well besides rebounding Nkoumoa has better stats all the way around. Plus Nkoumoa plays above the rim. I watched Harvard vs Kansas highlights and Ledlum defense is a little concerning. Nkoumoa has played 4 years against the best competition in college basketball. Ledlum has not. Yes Nkoumoa sometimes checks out but he is a overall better player.

A) No, Nkamhoua did not have better stats. That’s patently and verifiably false. You can say they played against different competition, but that’s an entirely different statement than saying Nkamhoua has better stats.
B) Nkamhoua was wildly inconsistent and disappeared more games than not.
C) Yes, Nkamhoua played above the rim. Grant Williams did not. Consequently, I suppose you’d rather have Nkamhoua.
D) I do wonder why a coach who’s had the success of Barnes, Rick Pitino, and Indiana all wanted this kid so badly, given that experts like (checks notes) Sadie0051 don’t think much of him. Who to believe?!

Personally...

If Ledlum can be a healthy version of what Jeronne Maymon was then he will be a huge success here as a portal addition.

Not the same type of player, he's a bit smaller than Maymon with the ability to hit from deep. But Maymon was a 28 mpg player who when healthy averaged 10-13 ppg and 8 rpg.

We will see. Ledlum will not have as good of year as Nkoumoa did this past year. If you think he will your going to be terribly disappointed. Nkoumoa shooting percentages were all better then Ledlums.

I have trouble understanding why some of our best posters will argue with another poster who has proven to be an agitator and pot stir-er(?). I have to navigate around those "agitators" post to try and glean something from this story. Just a request...but please refrain from clogging up the thread by engaging in that "silliness". JMO. Maybe its just me. Hopefully, we can get healthy and this kid will fit in perfectly to our culture and scheme and we can have another good year under CRB. As many have said and I'm speaking from experience....ENJOY THESE DAYS OF SUCCESS IN BASKETBALL BECAUSE IT COULD ALL DISAPPEAR IN ONE SEASON.

I definitely think Nkamhoua is better than we give him credit for. The occasions that he seemingly forgot how to play basketball we’re soooo frustrating though. I wonder if Ledlum will cause the offense to run a bit more smoothly, even if the stat sheet doesn’t match Nkamhoua’s.

All the talent in the world. It just came and went too often.

Dude just give it a rest. He is here and nothing you can do about it. All your negative narrative quotes about how good or bad he will be are as useless as your opinion. You dont know this guys heart and determination to get better and prove he can play at a higher level.

I know every team has them but having to deal with the agenda driven set that overly values their own analytical skills to the point they feel compelled to share share their thoughts in serial fashion is tiresome.

I fear it will get worse before it gets better. OH YEAH, I HOPE I AM WRONG. Sheesh. Watching the Nuevo LOM’s backslap each other with likes is comical. ALMOST.

I’m so glad I have that clown on ignore. It’s funny seeing all the replies without having to read the nonsense. :)

So you see no chance that Ledlum touches 10.8 ppg and 5 rpg?
