Sure. That's why they dedicate their lives to hours of endless practice growing up. They just don't care.

I hope I am wrong, but IMO Lofton is not NBA material. He is a very good shooter but I don't think he has the size, speed, or overall athletic ability to make it in the NBA. 6-5 6-6 gaurds with speed are all over NBA rosters and if you drape a guy like that on Lofton he is not going to beat you with the deep ball, and what else does he have to offer?
i totally agree. He isnt fast enough or quick enough for the NBA. He is a great player but not very athletic. He cant do anything but shoot and the NBA requires you to be able to do it all and I dont think he can.

He will make it sometime, but hopefully he will not leave until after he graduates. I think he can go to the NBA and play. He has the ability to play well.

Youre right the nba is a bunch of selfish guys who just play to make money and show off.

I can't stand the NBA either. They think its a talent show and not a team sport. All they care about is how well they do and how many points they can score in a game.

Trust me, you don't have to worry about him leaving early because he would go undrafted. The NBA draft is not the NFL draft.....you don't have a couple hundred kids drafted every year. I love Lofton as a COLLEGE player as much as the next guy but physically he doesn't have what you need at the next level.

Exactly. Could you imagine watching Lofton try to guard 1s and 2s in the NBA? Guys would be setting career highs every time they saw him.

Take for example Redick of Duke and Morrison of Gonzaga....they're both about 6 ft nothin and pure shooters. I think both these players are at Lofton's skill level if not better than him. At best I see this trio being bench players filling roles like Kerr of the Chicago Bulls....IF he makes it...and thats a huge if.

Morrison is 6'8"

i think those two are way above lofton right now. I hope Lofton will make it in the NBA but I dont think he is physically strong enough or has the defensive skills. I hope he proves me wrong but I dont think hes an NBA player, I see him NBADL for life.

Morrison is a lot bigger than that and has a lot more than just a jump shot in his arsenal.

I doubt he will play in the NBA. No chance he leaves early for the NBA. Is just isn't that type of player. Lofton is definitely a four year player in college. So as far as "worrying" about that, don't be. Since not much is impossbile, I will say there is about a 1-2% Lofton tries to leave early for the NBA after next year.

I'll take Lofton in a 3 point shooting contest against most players, but he has a long way to go if he evers wants to think about playing NBA basketball. He is undersized for a 2 guard, he is an average athlete, he would not be able to put the ball on the floor and create on the next level, he doesn't handle the ball that great, he doesn't play very good defense, he doesn't move very well without the bal, etc.

He can get hot on go crazy from behind the line and he carried us is some games this year. But I don't see Chris having a great future in basketball.

Morrison is 6'8 for sure and Reddick is around 6'4 I believe. You don't watch much basketball, do you?

If you think Morrison is just a pure shooter, its possible you have never actually watched him play a game. He can score from anywhere on the floor in a variety of ways. Both have a LOT more chance of being successful in the NBA than Chris Lofton does.

I think Lofton could be an NBA point guard, if he worked on his passing and ball handling the next 2 years. He doesn't have the size to play anywhere else. Spud Web and Mugsy Boes had a few years in the nba. He has a lot of work to do on ball handling, passing, etc. Mark Price had a career in the nba because he could shoot 3-pointers.

Mark Price was also one of the better passer/ballhandlers in the League. Also, prior to his knee problems, he was much quicker than Lofton.

Easy on the MAN from this season. Remember that he's only a sophomore, with two entire years to work on all of the aforementioned shortcomings of his game. He's got a touch that simply can't be taught. That's the intangible.

What he must improve: his ability to create shots and find open looks, ball handling, and defense. Speaking of the latter, he DID make great strides toward the end of last year, don'tcha think?

All the hard work in the world isn't going to make him taller or noticeably quicker. He should take some classes and learn Spanish or Italian.

Yeah, there have never been any successful players in the NBA who were under 6'2  ... As for the quickness and other things, he has a couple of years to work on that.

Look in the league now. Then tell me how many 6'2" guards with little to no quickness there are playing significant minutes.

I love how the majority of this board, who talk about how terrible the NBA is and how they don't watch it, suddenly act as if they're Jerry West when it comes to evaluating Chris Lofton.

Good job pointing out the obvious that those who can't make a cake should'nt speak on makin one. I don't know anything about basketball except the Vols floor a squad and I'm for em. I got caught up in the posts and made the mistake of joining in when I didnt have the facts, so Ill admit it I was talkin outta school.
