Chris Lofton leaves Russian team

I agree. I meant more like that 1 PG that never plays ever, but sits on the bench of every team.

My opinion would be no. One guy that comes to mind is Nate Robinson. He currently sits the bench for the Thunder. He would annihilate Lofton.

Exactly. As much as I love the guy, any GM would be crazy to have a guy on the court playing meaninful minutes guarding those names.

Yep. Great college basketball player, great guy, great representative for Tennessee, but he's just not an NBA player.

Yeah.

Oh, and how did Nate go from Knicks starter to scout team?

Do not ask Hat about salaries overseas.

The first bad blood between us was because I said I wish there was a Turkish league equivalent in football for D Morley because he would be a millionaire. Hat said "No one makes millions in the Turkish league." When I linked to an article showing a guy making millions in the Turkish league it started a path of recognizing that although he makes factually incorrect assertions a good bit, he will not admit when he is completely wrong.

The fact is Lofton is unable to get open enough to be a scorer, too short to be a shooting guard, and too slow to be a point guard. However, I'm hoping he can find somewhere he is not only a good fit, but also making a good paycheck.

Memphis could have used him and he wouldn't have issues guarding Cook and other bench players, whom are spot up shooters as well.

I think if JJ Reddick can make it Chris Lofton has a shot, Reddick is not much taller and is not quicker. So can someone tell me why if JJ can make it Chris cannot?

Yeah i can tell ya why. JJ is a better player. He killed it in college. In the NBA he has been a solid bench player. Defense has been a key to JJ's success

Guys would quit being spot up shooters and become drivers as soon as Chris Lofton checked into the game.

Lofton wasn't even a good enough ballhandler to be effective stealing minutes at the point in college.

Do you think Bruce ever gave him the ability to do that? I don't know if Lofton never brought the ball up the court because he couldn't or because Bruce wanted him running screens until he had a shred of daylight from beyond the arc.

I didn't realize JJ was playing point now, or played it in college.

I think they brought up ball handling in regards to creating his own shot. And JJ is much better at that now than he was. Monetarily Lofton's best option is overseas. What are the best leagues in the Euro?

Watch any Duke game Reddick's last two seasons and see who's playing out top with the ball the last two minutes of close games. He also played a couple of minutes a night there for Orlando when Jameer Nelson was hurt.

Spain and Italy. Israel is rapidly improving.

On a sidenote, I thought Lofton was quicker when he was a freshmen at UT. Seems like he gained weight from his freshmen to senior year, and he wasn't as quick afterwards. Not that he was ever that quick to begin with....

I noticed that as well. If you youtube his freshman year when he is wearing the headband, he actually looks quick. Regarding his sr yr, his body was going through hell and I don't know how much that took out of him, permanently.

You can make this argument about freshman to junior. I think he has a decent excuse for being a step slow his senior year.

I'm no medical expert, but I've got to think a battle with cancer isn't good for one's longterm NBA future.

I guess it's possible. Tim Floyd considered going to Russia after he resigned at SC.

Just figured with the Maccabi games and all, some Israeli team may want to give him a couple bucks to bring "star" power
