So, you think Lofton could guard Kirk Hinrich?

Question for me is: Is that where the other team is going with the ball? If someone is trying to exploit a matchup, I'm sure there are better ones on the floor than Hinrich/Lofton. Maybe Lofton can't guard him very well if they clear it out, but more than likely, Hinrich is going to be dribbling the ball 30 ft away and setting up a play for someone else on most possessions.

Hinrich has been a consistent double figure scorer in the NBA for going on a decade. Put a defensive donkey like Lofton on him and Hinrich becomes the primary option.

I agree. I meant more like that 1 PG that never plays ever, but sits on the bench of every team.

Point guards don't sit on the bench the whole game. Every team has a back-up point guard that gets a few minutes a game like CJ Watson. Hat's assessment of Lofton is spot on

Grizzlies have a 3rd string pg that played 1 minute in the playoffs and had 1 turnover in that minute. Ish Smith. Conley/Vasquez/Smith. They needed a shooter. I'd have replaced Smith with another shooter other than the streaky OJ mayo.

Memphis could use quite a few more options than what Loften could offer IMO. I wish it wasn't the case, but Loften just doesn't have a home in the NBA

I'm telling you, Lofton needs to read the bio of Trajan Langdon and forget the D-League pipe dream.
