So, you think Lofton could guard Kirk Hinrich?
Hinrich has been a consistent double figure scorer in the NBA for going on a decade. Put a defensive donkey like Lofton on him and Hinrich becomes the primary option.Question for me is: Is that where the other team is going with the ball? If someone is trying to exploit a matchup, I'm sure there are better ones on the floor than Hinrich/Lofton. Maybe Lofton can't guard him very well if they clear it out, but more than likely, Hinrich is going to be dribbling the ball 30 ft away and setting up a play for someone else on most possessions.
Point guards don't sit on the bench the whole game. Every team has a back-up point guard that gets a few minutes a game like CJ Watson. Hat's assessment of Lofton is spot on
