Word is he and Saban don't get along. He has UT ties, and could have been brought in as a DC in waiting after Monte. Word was we have the money to do it, but with O that might have changed.

If this happens and some D recruit turns us down, I'm on the record as saying that guy will have trouble with academics, even at bammer.

As a Vols fan and Carolina Panthers fan, this is doubly good for me. UT is on it's way back to championship form, at least as far as coaching goes, and the Panthers will hopefully take full advantage of the absence of these two fine coaches.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. I'm thinking DCIW. How old is Monte? 67 or 77. O is our guy for the not so distant future.

This is a very good possibility. I have thought the same thing. Another incentive for coach O to come.

Orgeron is a great recruiter, I think this will be a great hire. He is an intense kind of crazy guy too. I like the up in your face style of coaching.

As would I. Kiffin was in talks with Coach O prior to the press conference announcing his hire. Monte (while saying he just decided last week) committed to Lane prior to the press conference and Coach O was almost nearly as certain.

So, now that we got Monte Kiffin and Ed Orgeron, I would like to pose the question of who is going to fill out the defensive staff. And what is up with not having an offensive staff yet?

Living in Memphis, having a best friend that is a contributor to Ole Miss athletics, and knowing the inner workings of some of Orgeron's recent past, I just hope he gets mad enough one day to plant a chair into a wall at UT.

That SOB sure can't talk, but he can recruit his balls off and can light up a defense. I'm f'ing excited about our defense. I was sad about the departure of Chavis and staff, but if you're gonna replace Chavis, this is how you do it. Hell yes!

Anyways I'm not near as worried about the defensive staff as I am about the offensive staff...
