Chris Low reports Orgeron to UT

Good--now, if UT locks up Steele, they'll have the best D-staff in the country.

That would pretty much do it.
I asked the question yesterday after O was somewhat confirmed if that eliminated Steele and I did not get a straight answer. With the way things are going right now I believe until given a reason not to.
Gonzalez as well.:dance2:

If nothing else, there'll be some swagger to this team. Players better be ready to buckle up their chin straps cause it's going to be intense like they've never experienced intense before. We'll probably see some fall out in the first year as those who preferred the country club approach won't be able to cut it. I think Berry's going to love it.

I personally don't see us getting Steele and Orgeron. I think O was the first choice, and if he declined then we went with Steele. I may be proved wrong, but I don't see us getting them both. Would be great, but just not feasible I don't believe.

...love Eric Berry.

This is exciting news especially if Orgeron comes. I heard a story about his introduction to Ole Miss players that was wild, including his offer to take on any player in the room...could be myth.

Tennessee, if all goes as we think, will be a 3 year NFL Defensive camp. Come to Knoxville fellas and learn how to play defense like we do in the NFL...I do believe that is a strong recruiting tool.

Now as to the offensive side of the ball ????

I didn't think so either, but some are trying to sway me. Either way we are rollin':dance2::dance2:

Not enough money and titles with importance to go around. Nice pipe dream though.

Is it the general consensus that we would need to step Gonzalez up to offensive coordinator (even if only by title) in order to get him to come? Do we know a reason why he would leave UF for the same position at UT?

I see that we would have to do that, and also get him a raise too. I would love to get him. If not, we better keep scott.

I believe we would because of the MSU situation. Mullen MAY offer him that title to come there. Not for sure though because Mullen is in a see-saw on whether he is going to coach the NC game or not. So he has been mum on potential staff.

I don't even know that we should get Steele. How many DC's can work together on one defense without some kind of power struggle? IMO, getting Steele and Coach O would be overkill on the defensive side of the ball when we need to shell out some $$$ for some more offensive coaches. Recruiting would be incredibly sick, though.

Exactly...that's why I said I thought it was either Coach O or Steele. And with the rumors swarming that it is Coach O...that pretty much eliminates Steele.

Because Meyer is an a**hole? That's all i can think of.

I think we make Gonzales the OC and Yogi Roth as wr coach and bring kelly skipper in as rb coach and cregg as the te coach and denton as the ol coach. I apologize for the sloppy format, on my bb

Skipper will probably be TE coach. I bet Cregg is OL coach. Roth is a possibility, and Gonzales is too if the chips fall in the right place.

This is great, it is funny how one day we know nothing, now we have all kinds of stuff to talk about. It was getting old trying to argue weither or not UT made a better hire than Auburn.
Safe to say that got squashed.

You guys have to remember that we've got a cap on the amount of coaches we can have. We can't hire 13-14 coaches. If we hire an OC, he will likely coach a position. Monte might, he might not. If we bring in Schneider, he may have to coach a position as well.

Sorry your right HV, we are getting ahead ourselves.
Its like a freakin' buffet line tho'.
