Interesting use of a word.

I wonder if he means we got lucky in that we picked a good coach despite our inability, or we were lucky that he was willing to come here?

No too sure luck had anything to do with it from either side.

People in the know when it comes to these things like the hire and only speak well of CBJ. Mort has connections all over football, NFL and NCAA, so I'll trust those who know more about these situations than the pissed off fan base. VFL

He is a good hire. People are bitter we didn't hire Gruden. I wanted Gruden but make no mistake, Butch Jones is a good coach.

Can we just take it slowly and just sit back, watch, and root for the Vols??? Sitting here saying its a great or bad hire atp is just tiresome. Is what it is at this pt. We let CBJ do his thing and let it come together. Takes it day by day and stop the bleeding. Let it all heal properly instead of getting our hopes up or not.

I'm sure if people would learn to approach it this way we would be a lot better off just IMHO....

No way. This fan base knows more about football than any so-called journalist whose career is all about football. Nothing less than Gruden was a worse hire than Dooley

Lucky as in he fell into Harts lap. He will probably end up an elite coach.

We will know when we start winning in the SEC. An upset in Autzen could wake a lot people up. Not probable right out of the shoot, but stranger things have happened.

Next year is a joke. If he had this years team for the trip to go to Autzen next year he could go ther, and possibly win. I will judge Butch after next year.

Agree the proof will be on field if he suxs please no till i get my recruits n oh what a.mess he was left

No freaking excuses he wins or fire his butt.. No middle ground..

Just because his wife picked him third after she had been tagged by everyone else means we have to settle for sloppy seconds..

At least we knew who Butch Jones was. Everyone had to google Derrick Dooley to find out who the heck he was!

I gotta say, I am happy with this hire. I have never been more ashamed to be a vol fan than with the crap I have seen over the last 24 hrs.
