Church or Jail

At first glance, I agree. But can it really be unconstitutional if it is just offered as an option?

Go to jail or go to church?

Can't really be viewed as much of a choice, can it?

I agree, but thinking it through - as long as the court provides it as an option only and doesn't specify or endorse a particular house of worship, is there really a constitutional question?

Is there a mosque in the Alabama town? What if there's not a church of the offender's denomination? He doesn't have a choice then, does he? It's just a recruitment drive for the churches located in the town.

I would think that they would have to make accommodations for any religions not represented in the immediate area or there could be a problem with it.

As far as it being a recruitment tool . . . that is comical.

The recruitment comment was tounge-in-cheek. But yeah, how are they going to make accommodations for, say, a Jainist? Or, dare I say, an atheist?

Chocolate or vanilla a choice?

Your prolly right tho, they'd have to spend time around those "alleged" christians. Im sure those prison guards are cooler.

Yeah. Jail.

Yeah. Okay. This country apparently doesn't stand for equality at all...

And what's the statistic of religious people in jail versus atheists? A quick Google search shows 0.21% of all inmates in 1997 were atheists. Seems like this is a non-issue. Carry on.
