Public Officials in No-Go Paris Suburbs Offered ‘Loyalty Bonus’ for Staying Five Years
The government of French President Emmanuel Macron has offered public officials in Paris’s no-go suburbs a €10,000 bonus if they stay in the troubled area for at least five years.
Public officials in Seine-Saint-Denis will be given the £9,000/$11,000 cash bonus as a part of a plan by the government to improve the suburbs, which have been long plagued by poverty, high crime, and high unemployment rates.
French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe listed several other measures to the French parliament including 100 more police officers. Fifty will be members of the judicial police, which Prime Minister Philippe said had seen a “very large drop out” of personnel, Le Parisienreports.
I think it goes beyond a mere bump in retirement age…rather the incessant flood of immigrants, cost of living, funding wars in foreign countries…all being put on the backs of the French worker, who is now expected to do this for a longer term..
Well Macron did force it through without a parliamentary vote using a special clause in the French constitution. I would say its 50-50 that the anger is from the retirement age being raised and the way the reforms were handled.
This is for the physical laborers who have worked 40+ years getting their agreed upon pension. It's a govt assault on the poor. I hope they roll out the guillotine
