Pulling scholarships is not an issue unless your total allotment is full. Tennessee's is not and won't be even if they place the max

I am not sure on the rules for a player who previously was on your squad and left to play elsewhere, but I doubt we have room to give him a scholarship in the fall because of the 25 rule. He probably has 2 years of eligibility. If he walked on and paid his way in the fall, I think he could come in during the spring on the 85 rule.

This really has nothing to do with this kid, but are there rules against giving someone an academic or other type scholarship and him playing football.

My brother had both academic and athletic scholarship when he played baseball in college.

1987...I'm old ;) But I did get to see the state championship in '83 ;)

Nice, I thought it was 81, but maybe I'm wrong. Do you remember a player named Keith Davis, who later played at UT? I remember going to watch him as a kid with my dad.

I'm so old that it might have been '81 and I'm forgetting.

Keith was a senior when I was a freshman. The hallway seas parted when that man walked your way. I swear his letterman jacket must have weighed 25 pounds. He had a pretty good year at UT his freshman year, but then blew out his knee and never really recovered...if my memory serves me correctly.

Lol, KD is a good friend of mine. He loves sporting that '85 SEC Championship/Sugar Bowl ring. Yes, VOL N NC, you are correct, but he is still pretty quick for being in his mid 40's.

How is Keith doing? I haven't seen him since we graduated.
