For this past year I'd take Paul, Rondo, or Nash over Rose. His slashing for such a small frame gets him hurt all the time.

I think that about sums it up for me. Either you're just arguing to argue, or you just told me you would take not just one, but 3 different PG's over the league MVP. In which case, I can see you aren't going to budge on this, and I will just let it go. but before I go, 6'3" 190 lbs is a small frame? really? And if he is small to be a PG how do you justify him being your SG?

Sorry but the griffin over Perkins dunk kills all those previous dunks.

Not even close!

I know it was pretty awesome, but can it really be called a dunk when he didn't actually dunk it? More like he threw it in really forcefully from a high trajectory.

So far Paul and Nash have both gone for 54 games, Rondo has gone for 48 games, and Rose has gone for 36 games.
Give me one of the ones who will be out there almost every night. Rose was gone for so long that the team is actually better without him at this point.
I'd take Paul over Rose, but it's too bad that Nash is his age, because he would be my choice if he wasn't on the verge of retirement.

Good post. He's the best PG in the NBA when he is in his usual swing of things. He's rusty right now but that's what was expected after missing all those games in a row, then 1 more after coming back. Rose is huge for a PG. 6'3" 190 is far from small. But he def isn't big enough for SG. All the greats get banged up. I have no doubt in my mind Rose will have a long successful career. He's a freak of nature.

Every player has injuries. You act as if Rose will never get back to his usual form. He'll be back to the usual Rose by playoff time. And we wouldn't have the best record in the NBA without Rose. Rip Hamilton has been injured, and him and Rose are still trying to mesh. Not to mention Rose wasn't even 100% last night. He jogged up the court. The ankle is still bothering him. But he has to play so he's ready for playoffs. You think the Bulls are better without him? Not in the long run or during the playoffs. Stupid post.

Please. That was 6'10" dunking on 6'10".
Wade over Varejao was 6'4" dunking on 6'11". And Varejao didn't just get dunked on, he got slammed on, then fell down, then his legs rolled up above his head.

One was a good dunk, the other was utter humiliation.

I'm just saying...With Rose on the floor the Bulls were -27 last night. When they went to Watson, they were +38. Will he eventually get back? Yeah. Right now, though, I bet everyone was happy Watson was in at the end of last night's game.

Of course we're all glad Watson was on the floor. But by playoff time Rose will be back into the swing of things. I expected him to play bad. I knew the second I saw him get the ball on a rebound that once he started jogging instead of running as usual, I knew he wasn't 100% and they were just getting him and Hamilton some PT together so they're both ready for the playoffs. They were setting screens and forcing Rose to switch off onto Wade or Lebron. Rose wasn't even 100% so how in the hell could he possibly even come close to guarding 1 of those 2? I love CJ, but he won't get the Bulls a ring if he starts at PG. He's a great backup though.

I don't think that dunk was all that either. He mostly just threw it down. Literally. Plus I think Blake Griffin is greatly overrated. JMO.

There are two types of point guards who work in the NBA:

Isaiah Thomas type point guards
and
Steven Nash/Stockton type point guards

Rose is a different type of point guard than we've seen before really. I'd call him more of an Isaiah than anything, but he's just different. One reason he's so effective is because he doesn't play the point like it's traditionally done.

Sorry, you broke the rules, you can have either Rondo or Rose to be your PG. Not SG or Chris Paul or any other PG in the league. Just Rose or Rondo. Who do you take? The true PG or the one that is the league MVP?

Edit: you know what, fine. you want Rose or Paul? I still think most people take Rose to be their PG.

I take rondo over any pg in the league. He distributes, plays defense, gets rebounds, and scores when he has to. Maybe Chris paul over rondo but not rose.

1. Rondo is the best TRUE point guard in the league.
2. I'll take Scottie Pippen over Patrick Ewing in the dunk argument.:)
3. Blake Griffin is not over rated, tired of hearing it, nobody that avarages a double double in the NBA is over rated.

There are a handful of elite PGs in the NBA right now

Rose, Williams, CP3, Nash (even at 38), Parker, Westbrook, Rondo and soon to be Rubio and Irving

It is pretty hard to pick one out as being the best, but I would probably go with CP3

If only the SG position was so loaded with talent in the NBA....

Yes! I'm thinking the NBA is going to get more representation from UT in the next couple years. Stokes, Golden, and and Maymon all have legitimate chances if they don't underachieved this season IMO.

I want to get some NBA jerseys!! The red Bucks jerseys are really cool for Tobias. If I'm not mistaking, you can order ANY players' jerseys from the online NBA store. If they're not a superstar, you can pick a custom jersey, and then choose whoever you want from th roster. They'll match up the names and numbers. Badass!

I just pray that no Vol ever signs to Boston, Houston, San Antonio, or Dallas. Hate those teams.

Golden and Maymon have very little, if any, chance to play in the NBA.

To suggest such a thing probably means you don't follow the NBA too closely. Neither one of them are going to be good enough to play in the league. Now, Stokes is a different story. He'll be a high draft pick should he do the smart thing and stay here at least three years
