Class Rank...

I don't care where our calss ranks as long as the players coming in have a decent brain in their heads. Right now I will be happy to have players that can learn and stay out of trouble. I think that's CDD's focus with this class along with filling in the holes and I'm ok with it!

explain how notre dame and stanford are not on this list

1st off Notre Dame sucks and just lost a recruit today, won't be the last.

Stanford has a lot of players committed, could get jumped IMO. Not to mention theres a chance Harbaugh jumps to Michigan

ND lost a kid who chose to play football with his older brother. he would have de-committed from bama, usc, or any school in the country once UF offered.

btw, mind if i borrow your crystal ball so you can inform us as to who else will de-commit in the future?

also, the fact that you said harbaugh jumps to michigan proves that you are one lost pup.

Tino Thomas isn't going anywhere. He isn't just a low rated 3* guy. He is a guy the staff wanted pretty badly. He is a big CB and fast.

It's going to be borderline top 15. Everyone who follows our recruiting closely knows this.

How many 4 stars you predicting?

I say

Randolph, Smith, Johnson, Martin, Wright, Couch, Loften, Arnett, Pagan, and M. Jackson with chances of getting 4th star: Coleman, Dallas, Kerbyson, Posey, and Paul.

Edit: Somehow I forgot Richardson and Clear.

miami was ahead of tennesse in the espn rankings with just 8 commits...

not exactly a star friendly class for the vols..but solid

8-11 on Rivals

Loften, A.J. Johnson, Martin, Richardson, Couch, Arnett, and Clear are all looking pretty good right now. We are going to close strong.

Sucks that they won't be counting Loften in this class in the rankings though.

Which one isn't probable? Pagan is the only question, and he's looking more probable each and everyday especially with Florida taking Burton.

Pagan will be this year's Kelcy Quarles.

IMO...11-13...not counting Loften

Committed: Johnson, Martin

Future bump: Randolph, Kerbyson

High chance: Richardson, Clear, Arnett, Couch, Wright

Medium chance: Pagan, M. Johnson, Rome, Paul (predicting a bump here)

But we cannot expect everyone above us to just stop now and let us move ahead and also expect that no one on their list will be bumped up while all of ours will. This is just wishful thinking.

While I understand this opinion keep in mind that Pagan is taking it WAY further than Quarles ever did...

He was here for the spring game, visited again shortly after, camped here, visited for the UF game, visited for the Bama game and has said he will come back for an official...

Correct me if I'm wrong but all we ever got from Quarles was his saying he wanted to come see us...and nothing EVER came of it at any point...even before Kiffin left

It's simple (kind of) math...

I've programmed the Rivals team ranking formula into a spreadsheet and entered the players I expect us to pull...and then based on averages from the past 5 Rivals team rankings I've formed an opinion of where I think we'll finish...

Almost every scenario I've come up with has us in the top 15...the ones that don't have us just outside of it

Quarles came for the Orange and White game and that was it. We have gotten Pagan on campus at least 4 times.

Unlike Quarles, Pagan's mom seems to be in the Vols corner and also unlike Quarles, Tennessee is the much closer school.

The only con I see when comparing the two is Quarles' dad was just a USCe fan whereas Pagan's dad is apparently a contributing booster to UF....

Could be a little harder for Pagan's dad to stomach his son committing to us than it would have been for Quarles' dad...

Other than that the signs are all positive for us

How does that math work? So, out of our first 18 recruits, we get 2 4/5* recruits; but out of our last 9 spots open, we're going to get only 4/5* recruits?

So, that would take us from 2 4/5* players to 4 4/5* players out of our first 18 recruits; then it's going to be only 4/5* recruits here on out? Does "high" chance and "medium" chance equal "100 %" chance?

I didn't realize our final recruiting options were limited by proportions from our first recruits.

Yes, I think we've laid a solid base and now we have very specific, high-rated targets left on our board...so the number we finish with will be disproportional to that which we started with...

And to me, high chance means the recruit has publicly put us in their top 2 and all reports are that we're in the drivers seat...medium means they've publicly put us high on their list but I feel...based on what I've heard and read...that it will take a little more work from our staff to land them than it would to land those I listed as high

If we are able to turn it on when we decide we want 4* and 5* players and get them, why did we not try this for the first 18?

I don't think it's a matter of "turning it on"...

I think our staff has a very specific list of players they've targeted and that list doesn't have anything to do with how many stars these players have been awarded by a recruiting service...

They've landed the ones that were ready to commit and now their aim is at the ones that have decided to wait...

These prospects just happen to be highly rated...which isn't unusual since high rated players often wait until closer to NSD to sign

I think one thing that is very hard for some people here to stomach is that our staff puts ZERO stock in how many stars Rivals decides to give a player
