Class Rank...

So, how many guys can the SEC schools in front of us sign, like Ole Miss, UGA, Miss St, Arky, and South Carolina? How many do they already have? And will we be able to overtake any of them?

I know we're around 10th in the SEC at the moment, but I've got to think we'll leapfrog MSU and South Carolina. Anyone else?

Arkansas already has 24 commits I think, so UT should over take them. Rivals seems much higher on MSU, SCar and Ole Miss than I think they should be and they all have one or two more commits right now than UT does so I'd expect to finish in front of them as well.

I didn't realize our final recruiting options were limited by proportions from our first recruits.

It isn't, but I was curious as to why people believed our finish would be far, far, far better than our start, at least as measured by the recruiting rankings of our recruits. Generally, such finishes are more often lore and hope than become reality.

Yes, I think we've laid a solid base and now we have very specific, high-rated targets left on our board...so the number we finish with will be disproportional to that which we started with...

And to me, high chance means the recruit has publicly put us in their top 2 and all reports are that we're in the drivers seat...medium means they've publicly put us high on their list but I feel...based on what I've heard and read...that it will take a little more work from our staff to land them than it would to land those I listed as high

Ok. Then, it would seem the likely numbers would be to get 2 of the 4 listed as high chance (50% of recruits who put us in their top-2), and 1 of the 4-5 listed as medium (1 of 4-5 being considered). That would give us 5 4/5* recruits, unless some of our current commits get bumped up, which you list 2 as doing. Even were that to happen, that would give us 7, which would still likely put us 6th or below in the SEC, wouldn't it?

The highest rated players quite often wait until February to commit. Thus, such finishes are not all that uncommon.

IIRC when Maurice Couch commited it took us from 24th to 17th, so you mean to tell me that WHEN we land Couch, Arnett, Wright, Richardson, Clear, & Pagan & WHEN Randolph, Tom Smith, & Kerbyson land there 4th start that we wont be in the top 15?

I just love the simplistic thought processes of the kool-aid crew. We're not the only school in the nation that will be getting additional commitments.

Anything with a probability of 10% or higher gets rounded up to 100% and counted as absolute certainty.

Not so much anymore -- almost two-thirds of the top 250 players have already committed someplace.

Honestly I will be surprised if Tennessee breaks the top 20 at the end of the year and I would hit the floor if they break the top 15. Please Tennessee floor me! I beg you!

Dooley has a tough sell right now. Stock in other SEC schools is up right now while ours is very low. If I wasn't a UT fan and I had offers from some of these other schools I'm not sure if the tradition of UT would win me over. To most of these kids we have been at best just a average team at times and they have no memory of our greatness in the 90's.

While I am worried our down years could last for awhile, I do have hope that within 2 to 3 years we can be real good again. I think the coaching staff will be fine if they can get the talent here to compete with the best of the SEC. Can Dooley do that? Ask me after signing day.
