Clawson to Wake Forest

Clawson runs a radically different offense than anything UT was doing at the time. He said at the time he was hired that it would take two years to really get running. But multiply that steep learning curve times Jonathan Crompton's incompetence, and it quickly a disaster.

I thought it was a bold, admirable hire by Fulmer at the time, because it was uncharacteristically outside his comfort zone, and pretty clearly indicated that he finally realized he needed to shake some things up in the modern SEC. It was the first time we moved significantly away from the basic Walt Harris offense that we'd been running for 20 years. But the bottom line is Fulmer hired a guy who needed two years to get up and running when he didn't realize that he he himself didn't have two years to play with.

I believe, his time at UT as the OC, pushed us into the abyss, that has been the last 4 years...

It's still Fulmers fault, he hired him, and was fired as a consequence, and of course Hamilton didn't help with is hirings after firing Phil

You really think it's Clawson that set the program back? I'm sure it had nothing to do with the 2006, 2008, and 2009 recruiting classes being cluster*****. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the awful assistants that Fulmer hired beginning in 2002.

I said it's ultimately fulmer's fault in the same post you quoted
