Clay Travis says...

Who cares what Clay Travis says. He's the quintessential Vandy bandwagon fan. He's probably even convinced himself that he never was a Tennessee fan. Douche.

People forget that Al Wilson's legend truly began in the 1997 SECCG. We were trailing Auburn bad at halftime, and, legend has it, Al tore everyone a new one in the locker room (including Peyton) and boldly took the reins as a team leader.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Willie Gault, Carl Pickens ... the list goes on and on. Too many people only think of the present or recent past.

Um are you drunk? I listed Majors. He played before Gault and Pickens. Who the hell is thinking of present and recent past? Also, Reggie White played with Gault

Before Foster won the rushing tital everyone on Volnation only posted bad things about him how he cost the VOLS wins by having the dropsies. all you guys posted about how he fumbled at bad times that cost games.but now that he has become a rushing leader and a pro bowler there is nothing but praise.people make up your minds .either like him or jump off his bandwagon.i have always liked him even though i admit that he did have a few fumbles that cost games but almost every one has cost the vols to lose peyton threw a few pick sixes that led to blowout losses to the gators ,yet no one gives him hell over it.

I care more about what you do on Saturdays than what you do on Sundays.

AF isn't my favorite by any means but he is the 2nd leading rusher in Tennessee history. He also added quite a few receiving yards. Had he went pro after his junior season and not been around for the Clawson disaster most would view him differently.

Reggie White is my favorite Vol all-time with Peyton a distant runner up. These two are head and shoulders above the rest in my book.

Way after Peyton, you then have guys who were great with good character like Eric Berry, Al Wilson, Dale Jones, Johnny Majors, Heath Shuler, John Henderson, Frank Emanuel, Paul Neumoff, Condredge Holloway, Stanley Morgan, Antone Davis, Johnny Jones, Travis Stephens, Jack Hacksaw Reynolds, and Richmond Flowers.

Then after that I would put guys who were great players but were either too cocky like Willie Gault and Carl Pickens, too difficult and moody like Arian Foster, or character flawed like Travis Henry, Reggie Cobb, Jamal Lewis, Albert Haynesworth, Dale Carter, and Tony Robinson. A lot of additional guys unmentioned fit into this third group for various reasons.

AF acted like an idiot here. I've never change my opinion of the guy. Bottom line, the guy could have rolled out of bed and gotten the all-time rushing. Instead he is best known as one of the reasons Fulmer went packing.

I can see Eric being higher. Arian is a stretch IMO. Then again, Wilson played at UT almost 15 year ago so that may have something to do with it

This probably would have the most to do with it. Manning is still playing in the NFL and high profile, so he's obviously still fresh in everyone's minds, but Wilson hasn't played in the NFL in 7 years and Foster is a current All-Pro.

That Eric Berry and Arian Foster is more popular most beloved vol ahead Al Wilson... Eric is 3rd behind Al Wilson. But Arian? Really Clay? What do y'all think?
The only thing I remember about Arian Foster's career at UT was his fumbles in late, big-game situations. If my memory is correct, he single-handily lost us 2 maybe 3 big games with his fumbles. The bowl game against Penn State was horrible he had like 3 fumbles in the second half. And, it seemed like he always fumbled in the redzone but mainly within 5 yards of the goal line.
