IDK, TN is trying to go to a bowl game. GT would love to get any key player on UGA so mad that they get 2 unsportsman like conduct penalties so UGA faces Alabama with a lesser team. It's not worth it for UT or any other SEC to do that, but GT isn't going anywhere, so GT got a guy to be ejected to get a UGA guy ejected it doesn't really hurt GT.

However, next year, Tenn CAN use a game like this as a template to play UGA tougher and so can every other team they face. THAT'S what GT wants: Do whatever it takes to take UGA down a peg or two long term and short term.

Georgia breaks the longest SEC win streak with 29 straight wins and have put together three straight 12-0 starts over the last three seasons and hasn’t lost in nearly two years. Just an amazing run they are on right now.

SEC being so strong is why TN is still in the top 25 because most schools in most conferences have 1 or 2 tough opponents during the regular season. SEC has 6 teams in the top 25.

Look at Michigan playing and losing to TCU last year and then UGA embarrassing TCU in the championship game. That win elevates the entire SEC the following year because it demonstrates just how dominant UGA is and by association, how good all the other school that even scores 2 TDs against UGA.

I do think TN had one of the toughest schedules in the entirety of the NCAA, but IDK that as a fact. There is probably a good SOS or strength of schedule out there somewhere.

Just like SEC baseball, watching just SEC baseball or football is pretty great because of all the talent on our teams and in our conference.

That approach also shortens the game and reduces the opportunity for injury. Seriously, how did Bower's get worse physically in the past week. He played a week ago and was fine, but it's not worth the risk to play him against GT.

Also, I think Kirby made the right decision by playing the way he had his team play GT and that's true for who he sat this week. Team health is important and while UGA does have some guys out with injury, their SUCH a deep team that the "next man up thing" only works for the top 3 teams in the nation. The rest of the NCAA doesn't have the depth to play as intensely and to practice with intensity. Practicing that way makes them better on Saturdays.

Depth is key to even end up in the championship game or even be a top 4 school.
