Clean, Ole Fashioned Hate: Georgia Tech (7-4) vs #7 Georgia (9-2) (7:30PM ET, ABC)

And the blitz and formation yall are claiming is set to stop the run is occuring against a blatant drop back pass play with the line showing obvious pass protection....

Doesn't change the fact that GT snowflaked out on the playcall to pass the ball on 4th and inches..... Calling a run there obviously means the line isn't going to drop back in pass protection.

I am not saying they should have run King out of that formation. I'm saying they should have lined up and ran the ball in their best run playcall they had.

That's the difference.

To get a first down and burn 3-4 seconds to set up a Hail Mary versus throw for a chunk and try a game winning fg?

While the refs have sucked in this game, without King's fumble rolling around for a few seconds and GA recovering, this game was essentially over.

I'm having a hard time seeing it as fully rigged unless that fumble by King is part of it.

Except that ACC-team SMU is what, 2 spaces below UGA? And Clemson is right outside at #12?

It would have given the opportunity for scenarios where both Miami and SMU (conference champion and conference runner up) and Clemson could have all ended up getting playoff bids; meaning the conference could potentially be getting 2-3x the extra payout for playoff team appearances.

So yeah, jt wouldn’t do anything meaningful for GT but it would be of, as you put it, meaningful help to the conference…especially in a period when there’s a sizable fiscal TV revenue gap.
If UGA wins next week that’s all moot. How does Clemson get in with UGA winning the SECG even if they lose today? They don’t. If UGA lost this one there’s no way they lose next weekend. Sankey won’t risk it being UT and TX only.
