Clemson post-mortem article... interesting

Clemson issues to me:

1. average WRs
2. OL not that good
3. Conditioning: In the 4th Quarter our Defense had over 100 snaps and it was Clemson Offense and Defense that was tuckered out.
4. Offensive schema/play calling.
5. Young inexperienced QB and putting too much pressure on him to carry the team.

Dude, this nailed it.

CDS was in a quandary as far as a game plan. He could either play to our weakness (pass defense) with his weakness(1st Start QB) or to his strength(run game) into the strength of our defense(stopping the run). He chose our weakness instead of his strength. But it cost him. Their one TD of the game came on a drive where he went run heavy. From then on they were playing behind the chains or in need of multiple scores fast, so back to the Freshman they went. The rest is history.

Time to steal a cycle or two on the recruiting trail whilst all the Clemson naval gazing gives us the opportunity to sow some doubt and hesitancy amongst recruits both programs covet.
Heaven knows Clemson and other programs sure did that to us the last decade
Guess all those top classes that Clemson had are not panning out

Dabo just got out coached plain and simple. And I'm glad he's on the defensive a bit now so recruits can see it. He's done a great job at Clemson but he's looking a little more like a carnival barker of late.

I love the way JH carries himself....praises players and fans when we win, takes the blame when we lose. He never whined about opt outs or tried to make excuses ahead of time....just very business like guy with just enough emotion (hugging players post game, only time you see him angry is with a stupid officiating decision).

Yep. and that 15-yard penalty was GOLD......because he let the refs know what's up...then Joe just delivers a TD...WIN.WIN

THIS! What you said about CJH is exactly what I think as well. He shows plenty of emotion, but he never seems out of control … unlike several we could name.

Here is the problem I have with Clemson, they play nobody in the top ten and only a couple of teams in the top 15.

Clemson 2023 schedule:

Charleston Southern
Florida Atlantic
Notre Dame
South Carolina
Florida State
Georgia Tech
North Carolina
Wake Forest
Duke
NC State
Syracuse
Miami

Not really. They earned their way to where they are... just like Gump. What they ARE though is trying to deal with being brought back to being normal. Gump will experience this someday, as will UGA.... and it too will be glorious.

yep earned their way then became self entitled program

I know this is rainbows and unicorns type thinking, that some (or most) of you may think I'm nuts, but if it were possible to have Jeremy Pruitt as defensive coordinator and developing that side of the ball, the Vols would be shoo-in for CFP semi-finals and annual contender for the final.

For all his faults, the man can coach defense.

The unspoken, but accurate fact is that it is pretty easy for a decent to good team to win the ACC. The only real competition Clemson has in that conference (for now at least) is FSU. Routinely facing weak competition is no recipe for post season success.

Our fans would be doing the exact same thing.

Fans are going to be fans. But I am really talking about the level of effort of the Clemson/Bama players. Tennessee players put in the work and it showed. Bama and Clemson appeared to me to be resting on their laurels.
