Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei entering the transfer portal

I figure we may see Jackson some in the OB to get a look if the game is lop sided one way or the other.

We still have Navy. In between him and Milton is a pretty solid QB room, with no announced transfers at this point. And nico coming in, plus if they sign anyone further. With golesh heading south, we may lose one or two. But, we will be fine. I'm much more confident about our QB room than what I saw of Bama's #2 in his limited play this year.

What’s up with the infatuation with Navy Shuler? Just his last name? Lol he wears a running back number and is a walk-on that couldn’t get an offer from a P5 school. I’m sure he’s value added in other places but he’s not elevating Tennessee on the field.

Knowing our luck, his replacement will probably be Patrick Mahomes!!

In a small sample, he looks really good. I am not saying we can't beat him or he is really good, he just looked good in small samples.

He can run and throw effectively in the ACC.

He has never been the named starter which is different than coming in with your hair on fire to clean up D.J.'S mess.

Also, I am starting to question player development in Clemson. We will either give them a big boost for the off season or expose more of the issues.

It was...nevermind.

1)Jackson broke his collarbone.

2)Navy isn’t starting a game for us and if he does we’re screwed.

3)The thing is about teams like Bama is they always look to get better through any means possible. They will end up with a good option at qb. We better be looking to do the same.

Depending on how the staff feels about Jackson, I would be looking for a viable backup to Milton. I would want to work Nico in some but on my terms and timetable. His size and inexperience make struggles and perhaps even an early career injury more likely. You just always want to stack the deck for a kid to be successful.

1) The Navy comment was in good humor. CJH gifted him a legacy spot on the roster. We all know that. Navy knew that.
2) However, you never know what someone is capable of until they are put in a situation.
3) I missed the boat on the Jackson injury. Would seriously liked to have seen an appearance by him in the bowl game though just to see.

I would’ve liked to see more of Jackson as well. Really need a good second option to Milton next year.

Idk that anyone is saying Milton is phenomenal but he’s here. If we’re bringing someone in they should be better by a good margin. I don’t think DJU is that guy.

I don't, either. DJU completed 2 for 5 against UNC. By comparison, Hunter Johnson, Clemson's 3rd string QB
was 5/5.

Klubnik was something like 24/28.

The Tigers" narrative has changed from "receiver drops" to "Why didn't we play academy against South Carolina"?

No reason to assume Jackson won’t be fine by spring or summer at the latest. We haven’t seen enough to rule him out as a good backup or bridge if Milton doesn’t work out. I would take him before bringing someone in who would have to learn our offense and get used to tempo and options he would need to read.

I doubt DJ goes anywhere he’s not a lock to start, and we are not that place. But he and Nico are cousins. That could be a wild card factor if Heupel decides to go after him.

No hate. I always wished the light would come on for him. He just didn't have the ability to process. The game never slowed down for him. He's not a bad guy. He had physical talent. Much like DJ... it just never came together for him mentally.

He got coaching. He got help from camps and QB specialists. It wasn't just coaching.
I think coach Heupel could have slowed it down for him. just look at the strides Hooker and Milton have made under his coaching.

We should try and pick him up. He’s better than Milton
Please stop with the antiMilton talk! He’ll get to showcase his potential in the orange bowl! Trust our coaches and let’s see what happens. The truly unfortunate injury to Hendon has given us an opportunity to test out Milton!

I’d be more patient if I were coach H…there will be better QB’s in the portal in a few weeks, that and several JUCO qb’s looking for greener pastures. With Tayven returning and Nico arriving next year, we should be in good shape.

That's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I don't think being here should be enough to guarantee you a starting spot at Tennessee. I think it should be earned by performing. If Milton doesn't show some serious signs of improvement, I think next year could be very average. And it shouldn't because there will be weapons at RB and WR but this offense requires someone who can be accurate and have full command of the offense and understanding what the defense is trying to do. I feel Milton lacks in all of those areas.
