It was so easy to refute the claim that Trump deserves credit for these numbers so now it's "he hasn't hurt it".

CC and GW have been. But not CO2. Trump is letting the market fix the problem. Costs for non coal are down. So less coal is used. And despite no bans we still decreased enough to be falsely claimed to decrease the most. Germany actually beat us. But we were second just by letting the market work. That's a Trump policy.

What are you saying that Trump's policies are to let Obama's policies take full measurable effect? If you say his policy is to do nothing and give him credit for it, then you need to give him the Peace Prize for his work in NK.

Come on man give credit where credit is due. Trump did nothing to be attributed to the numbers.

What did Obama do to make non coal cheap? Sink 5 billion into a failed solar panel manufacturer? Artificially hold down prices with subsidies or tax breaks? Obama's pen and phone doesnt mean long term changes. Letting the market run does. Trump has got out of the way instead of trying to randomly pick the winners.

He made it more expensive to operate coal fired power plants. You're such a narrative driven simpleton. If Trump truly got out of the way he would deregulate Nuclear but he deregulated coal to "help" them. Trump hasn't got out of the way at all. Deregulate coal and lower emissions standards on automobiles. He is indeed trying to prop up coal and gas and that is doing something.

I am glad to see you admit that Trump is doing something, and it lead to decreases in C02 emissions.

If costs remain high on coal there is no incentive for alternates to be cheaper. And no reason for people to switch. Higher coal costs let power plants stay open longer even though pre Obama we were seeing coal shut down.

Such a spin my head hurts. His policy is doing nothing but what he is doing is something that contributed the the numbers? Good lord man, the numbers would have probably been better if he had done nothing.

OK, let's accept that his policy is doing nothing. Therefore it goes to show that government need not get involved to reduce our carbon footprint. Government is not always the answer.

Unless it's single use straws in California of course, then it should be mocked incessantly. Up til now it was a hoax and didn't matter.

I have a question for the tree hugger democrats that are in here proclaiming that Trump is doing nothing. Just how many of you guys drive a Prius or a Tesla. I'll hang up and listen.
