That's what he wants & it's an indicator that he's doing a good job.

That being said, a good job at Vandy is still.... just a good job at Vandy. We win this weekend by more than a couple TDs. O Line finally puts up a fight and makes some running lanes and protection for Dobbs.

Which team has the most recent wins against Missori, Georgia and Florida? I hate to break it to you but you don't have to be on drugs to know it isn't us.

Is this a rivalry? Of course it is. You always expect to beat Vandy and should 19 times out of 20. But right now they are the better team. Tennessee can change that Saturday but to say its a given would be ridiculous.

I'm just simply not ready to concede the state to Vandy. They have won more games than us over the last couple years and beat us soundly last year. That can't be argued. But they beat a UT team last year that had given up on its coach and the season. They also lost 48-3 to UGA last year and didn't beat one team that finished with a winning record. This year they beat UGA and UF who were both riddled with injuries. They gave up 51 points at home against Missouri. They didn't play Oregon,Alabama or Auburn. They lost to South Carolina. I'm a blatant homer,I know. But their resume is not what some have tried to build it up to be.
I'm not guaranteeing we win. I'm just saying that it's in Knoxville and I like our chances. I really hope I'm right.

You're smoking some good stuff if you think Vandy is a better team. (Last year yes, this year no.) They beat GA and FL teams that were absolutely destroyed by injuries (many of them caused by us). If they had played those teams at full strength, there's no way they would be bowl eligible - even with their cupcake schedule.

Franklin admitted last night that this is not a rivalry yet. I'm sure he's telling his players that as well to get them fired up. We better be ready.

They are vandy; we are UT. They are not and never will be a rival of ours, and it hurts to even utter that stone hard truism.

Conference-wise, VU should have been shown the door along with Sewanee and Tulane 4 generations ago. They are charlatans taking up space on our schedule. I refuse to boo their players lest any recognition might vindicate their existence.

Seriously, who's next? Kentucky.
