CNN Poll: Big Gains For Obama In Battlegrounds

I am not putting too much stock into it quite yet. However, this from the McCain campaign makes me think they are starting to panic...

"These polls are laughable. We hope Obama thinks they’re true. The national tracking is clear: Some polls have us down 2 percent, some 4, some as high as 6. How could you have national numbers like that, but have those kinds of numbers in three of the largest, most competitive states in the country? These states are bellwethers because they closely mirror national demographics. Given the volume of campaigning in those states, we expect that they are close to the national track – if not tighter."

Nevermind the fact that McCain was polling ahead of the national average for a while there too.

I've been watching CNN while here in the nation today.

They also said his national approval rating was not going up.Because he has no national campaign right now.

He's concentrating on the key battle ground states.

Believe polls? I'm not sure I'm even going to believe the election results one way or the other...

FL +4%, MN +11%, MO + 1%, NV + 4%, VA +9%

Wow, looks like the rout is on... if you believe the polls.

gloating because our situation in America is dire enough to elect the most unqualified and most liberal candidate of our lifetimes just doesn't make sense to me.

You want to claim some sort of objective high ground, but shout hooray regularly about a guy with no credentials whatsoever. All the while reminding that the opposing VP candidate is unqualified. Equally baffling.

This is not a surprise but has more to do with the economic crisis and general disgust with all of Washington. Obama is more "changey" (Colbert owes me if he uses this term) and thus benefits.

Reminds me of the old adage "Be careful what you wish for".

How many people do you know that have actually been polled?

I know many Democrats. All of them that I talk to, and I mean ALL, are voting against Obama.

A couple of examples. My sister in law is a lifelong Democrat. She is voting against him. A co-worker made this statement, "I've never voted Republican in my life. This will be the first time." My best friend has never voted in his life. I have hammered on him for thirty years to register and vote. He has registered for the sole purpose of voting against Obama.

You "Lil' Hussein lovers have a huge surprise coming in November.

The rout is on alright.

there's a lot of info contained in the fact that the current admin is a complete failure according to a huge number of Americans, yet Obama can't pull a majority of those polled.

It says many cringe at voting for him, yet do so solely for the mythical change that he might, a very strong might, bring. Last time the vote was on the heels of such a poor R admin., we elected another ultraliberal dufus and got historically poor results on most fronts.

For the record, Obama is polling at or above 50% in numerous polls. Better than any Democrat since Watergate.

funny you should mention watergate, since it's the situation that gave us the ultraliberal, and ensuing disastrous results on every front, that I referenced in my post. Thanks for the help.

Well since the Carter disaster was primarily responsible for ushering in the Reagan administration, I'd guess there is some good news in an Obama victory next month.

4 years of grievous inflation, military neutering and giveaways, followed by an additional 3 years of recovery is hardly something to look forward to.

I really hope it's not that bad.
we agree, but we're electing a guy running on an ultraliberal platform as a knee jerk reaction to a bad R admin. Obama's platform would have him run out of Washington in a more typical election. In fact, without the recent economic crisis, I'm not he sure could have won.

I'd like to think I'm dead wrong, but we're not electing Obama for who he is and experience. We're electing an unqualified ultraliberal because of who he isn't.
