They have four 5 star recruits coming in this year alone that would all be top 10 NBA draft picks with Wall being No. 1 overall. UK is on the rise and FAST!

Maybe it's just me, but I find it difficult as a Vol fan to express their rise in any form of excitement.

Thats true, we will have a few one and doners. I suspect that if a college wants to win it all it needs the best players. We play seasons one at a time so one and done will fit in. We have 2 or 3 like that on the current roster.

I guess I am bragging a bit but this recruiting class that UK is bringing in is epic, in that it is the higest ranking recruiting class in modern hostory surpassing the Fab 5 and any that UK broght in during the 90s.

I believe we will see a lot of fresh faces every year now at UK, but it doesnt guarantee anything. One thing it does guaranteee though. UK is feared once again. Tubby Smith has officially been flushed.

But UK signing 4 Five star recruits and 2 four stars doesnt tell the whole story. Getting Patrick Patterson back is bigger than any of the signings as he now wont be double teamed. Word is...Jodie Meeks will be back as he wont be selected in the first round and will come back to hone his skills in the Dribble Drive offense. I guess you can see that I, as a UK fan am very excited.

At a time when UK is going for its 4th bowl win in a row (I know, we have a long way to go) UK has battled back and poised its historic basketball program at the top of the heap. We wont be needing 54 from Meeks this time guys. You guys better get ready because We're BAAAAAAAACK.

Signing the 2 5 star point guards and the nations best player (PG) John Wall is just the beginning.

Sorry for the chest thumping but this recruiting class is the best in college basketball history at UK and I guess I just wanted to let you hear it from a Cat fan on how we feel about that.

Thanks for listening.

And please tell me the success rate of Teams with a superstar one and done player(s) in relation to how many times that team has won a National Championship.

Its veteran teams more times than not.

Does Carmello Anthony ring a bell?

Does UK in the 90s ring several bells.

Like I said in my first post, there are no guarantees. But when you stack talent upon talent and throw in a rock star coach like Calipari who has done more outside of UK than Rick Pitino then you have to like your chances of success.
Bear in mind...UK is a place where titles can be won when the talent mix is correct and its getting ready to happen again whether this particular class does it or not.

But mostly it isnt about the end result as much as gaining back the fear factor and having fun as fans knowing we have a monster at our side.

Its fun again. I apologize for my fellow fans because they are going to REEEEALY be rough to deal with. I will at least give you respect...Yes, I admit I am here to brag a bit.....

I guess were baccckkkk cause we got a new coach, system, and players. Hold down a second bud, neither our football coach or your basketball coach have coached a game yet. Maybe your football team can learn to win against UT and maybe our basketball team will learn to beat UK. I see a improved UK team, but dont get so happy yet...there is still UNC, Duke, KU, and many others that will be just as good.

Carmello Anthony is the only one and doner to have led his team to an NCAA championship.

They had already gone from dud to contender by importing John Calipari, who signed a top-flight recruiting class, to go with returning big man Patrick Patterson, the best post player in the country. (They may even get sharp-shooting guard Jodie Meeks back, too.)
Now Coach Cal and the Cats reportedly have John Wall, the top recruiting prize in the country.
Wall will not only step onto UK's campus as the best college player in the country -- he could have been the prize of tonight's NBA Draft Lottery. (Yes: He could have been the No. 1 overall pick in 2009; instead, he will wait a year, but still be the No. 1 pick in the 2010 draft.)
It is not even June, and college hoops has its dominant storyline: Kentucky is back. Kentucky is No. 1. Kentucky will win the national title.
Because John Wall will lead them.

Wow, sounds like someone will commit suicide or live in a basement if UK doesn't go all the way. Sorry, but typical UK fan.

being from memphis i may have a little more insight. he's a pr machine, but he can't coach. his bench coaching skills suck, pearl beat him with lass talent two yeara ago. all these one and done players will find it hard to learn his new system in one year. no one remembers he was average when louisville, cincinnati and the other schools were in conference usa. he only started dominating when they left. besides, world wide wes will be watched a lot more than he was in memphis. cal wanted to see how he could do with the big boys, now he's going to see. remember, memphis did not play a tough schedule, but he knew how to manipulate the rpi. playing tough teams night in and night out is going to be tough, and it will show if they make it to the tourney. cousins doesn't even fit into his system, so he's going to have to work around that. anyway, he's way overhyped. i talked to a friend who's a uk fan and asked him how many losses would be a problem, he said ten.

I think you may be missing my overall point. UK fans NOW can collectively know we have a title "Type" team. Its the joy of the ride over the destination. When you consistantly put togeter loaded teams the long term outcome will be a national title.

UK has won titles with 4 coaches...no other basketball program has ever won with 3.

UK will win it with 5...I cant say when...I am just saying its enevitable. If that sounds cocky it because it probably is but its based on what we know will happen.

UK + great coach+ talent add in the variable of time and the outcome is Championship.

But Championship isnt the only thing. Its having the Aura and the swagger back.....:dance2:
We now are RIGHT there in the title discussions with top recruits lined up again. I think you guys make great points but what we have put together certainly will be a freakshow in a league like the SEC and you can bet we will be a load outside of the SEC and likely #1 seed.
