I wish I had heard the interview. Sounds like a great hire...would like to hear more from him. Probably after signing day.

I thought those old Purdue offenses really were just awe-inspiring...I'm definitely glad he's working with our "stable" of quarterbacks.

While being a bit smug(I know stunning), I certainly understand what your saying, it just seems to me that the "FB IQ" on this staff is very, very high in comparison to the previous staff.
I understand the excitement...

This is the SEC though, and honestly, we don't know how this is going to come together. Tempered optimism from me...

Is there a link to the interview? Do you think the sports animal will post it up? I would have loved to hear this interview!

He sure doesn't look like a football guy though. Someone called him the 6th Beatle or something like that. I like him though.

Absolutely fair, I was certainly guilty of Clawsonmania.

Ehh, We all were...I still like Dave..Glad to see that his time at UT didn't ruin his career and he has moved on to be Bowling Greens HC...I certainly wish him the best and will be rooting for him to do well.

The question I have (and basically the only worry) is how much control is Chaney going to have. He basically called the plays at Purdue (from what i understand) and I'm wondering if there could be some chemistry issues between CLK and Chaney...

CLK seemed to suggest that it would have to be someone he trusted a lot before the OC would be calling the plays. Does anyone get the impression that Chaney is that guy right now? My opinion is that Chaney accepted the job understanding that he would would not be calling the plays, at least initially.

Okay, that would clarify some things, yet if I'm Chaney, and maybe I shouldn't ask this, but I'm sure he could have gotten a job where he calls the plays so why take this job, and would you rather have Kiffin calling the plays or him focusing on all the team and have Chaney runnin the offense

They touched on that in the radio interview, and Chaney said something to the effect of "I'd encourage Coach Kiffin to be the one who calls the plays."

In other words, he didn't seem to have any problem with being the guy in the background working with the entire offense and the OLine.

When Fulmer was cleaning out his desk, he found a little extra magic dust. Wonder if Chaney every got it?
