Coach CM speaks indirectly...

I know that a cat scan is not a prerequisite for joining volquest. Though I will be glad to pull out quotes from previous posts if you think that martin has not been defended as recent as today on this forum.

There's a difference between defending Martin and saying letting him go at this point in the season would be a very bad idea (previous to tonight at least). Most of the posts that could even be considered defending Martin, mine included, were arguing that, not that Martin deserves a Year 4.

Considering who UT lost to tonight. I dont think this team wins 16 games all year. N.C. State was 7-2 coming into this games. Looking at their schedule I'm shocked. Barely beating E. Kentucky. Campbellsville. And losing by 10 to N.C. Central. I have lost all respect for Quasi Dooley II.

Everyone with a brain knows he's incompetent at this point. Don't know who threads like this are trying to convince - but I can guarantee about 100 more of them will be posted before the end of the week.

Fixed your post. When Vol Nation is rolling, there's no stopping her.

I say they go ahead and get rid of him and have more time to make a hire before next season

I'm not opposed to hiring a better coach, but do you realize how utterly moronic your approach to it really is in reality?

More time to make a hire? What, is Shaka Smart going to run into our arms in January and coach the rest of the season? No one is coming any earlier than late March-early April. There really is nothing to be gained by firing Martin midseason, so you may as well get used to the idea that he'll be here for the remainder of his third season.

I understand that it would be a very difficult situation for a coach to come in midseason (and finding a coach at this point) and have success. At the same time I know there is a zero % chance martin has success with it. It really all came down to me having a problem with admitting this talented team is going to be wasted.

Cuonzo is Buzz Peterson all over again. I've supported him in the past but my nagging doubts have finally manifested into a complete desire to see him fired.

Next year, if we bring someone in who can coach this talent, we'll win like gangbusters. So, who is the next Bruce Pearl?

So is basketball. Glad you could realize midway into year 3 this coach doesn't know how to teach them.

I had reservations about his coaching, yes. I was willing to give him a chance with the most talented team he had assembled at UT, and he has failed. A perfectly reasonable approach. Are you down on Butch because the football team was garbage?

Different. Pearl left a winning team. Dooley left CUSA talent. BJ is in his first year. CM is in year 3. Bj has a top 5 class. CM has a poor recruiting history. Bj has a conference winning history. CM never won a conference title.

I agree (and I am very pro-Butch), other than the fact that Pearl left a winning team. Fact is we went 19-14, got blown out by 30 in the first round, had sanctions looming, and our two best players left. That's why I gave CCM some leeway the last two years (especially the first year) - what has happened so far this year is unacceptable.

Pearl revitalized this program. Some claim that CCM has destroyed it, but it's just dormant at this point. Attendance is still very high and most of the fans from the Pearl years have continued to follow the team. I have expecting a change to be made at the end of the year for several weeks now, and last night 100% confirmed it for me.

Absolutely not. His situation is the opposite of martin's. He was left a mess with a depleted roster. Butch Jones will be fine here.

Disagree, he could easily slide in as former head coach of the Colts and literally nobody would notice.

He would also be good in Candyman VIII.

That is why our coach is a no show most nights. Somebody has to say his name 5 times in the mirror b4 games. who knew?

CCM just said on morning show that players "gotta knock shots down". We had open looks.

"Shooters got to make shots"....this quote not today but waiting on it...

focus level of team?

"Consistently being locked" "Consistency from start to finish"

"Making the xtra pass, got to be moving" "got to be more consistent".

Say Jordie M needs to be more vocal???? Like CCM is so vocal.
