I love her… but I don’t think she’ll satisfy the recruiting itch people have here. She’s a long term builder. A valuer of hard work over hype and rank. That doesn’t satisfy the McDAA crowd here

I think I see our problem; it's basketball as a whole. We need one program, two teams and not two programs, two teams.

If Kellie goes, then hire Jeff Walz. He wasn't the right coach after Pat, and he wasn't the right coach after Holly. It's different now. Louisville had something really unique for a while. They had a women's team and a men's team, along with a football team, that were all playing at a very high level. People on here have called him greedy, but someone's got to play that role to make this sport a destination not a stepping stone. And your higher salaries at the top raise them across the board and down the line.

Danny's more of a vandal than a villian, but I think he'll play the latter role to get TN to a place where it needs to be. lol, I guess that makes him a Volunteer after all.

I'm not worried about kjh at all. I'm excited to see her future. The house that Pat built will carry on, it was never meant to become a prison.

At least Cora was honest in her assessment that every major player under Kellie has faced injury.

If anything, I know I’m in the minority, I pray we go away from relying on a Rickea type player. Im sorry but it doesn’t get us far..

We need full team buy in. We need roster stability. We need team chemistry. Look at what that does for teams like MTSU with far less talent.

This logic and the men's team should never again go after someone like Dalton Knecht. Where would they be today without him... watching today's games on tv.
Like a previous poster said, it's not RJ, it's the others around her. Similar with DK, but he has ZZ at point guard and 2 bigs. Plus an athletic, tall defender and a guard who defends (and, btw, if one of these 2 alternated scoring consistency, maybe a few more games won).

They ran her off screens more. got the ball in her hands at the top of the key with players in motion so that she had passing options. I did not see those kind of sets as much in NCST game. it was more just RJ have a magic night and proving the old adage, a great offensive player can beat good defense.

The key (no pun) to that action, which was beautiful, was having TK on the floor and fully functioning. It was her doing most of that screening and rolling. Has been argued that TK should have been left in to play thru those two fouls against NCST and try to duplicate that. I do agree this team's ability to stay in motion was very come and go.

Back to my current deadhorse, another huge diff in those two games and our ability to run sets was that against SC, other players were hitting shots and had to be accounted for defensively. Not so NCST.

I would bet $ that White does not go that way. Walz has the look of a coach whose best days have passed and White favors up and comers who can be had for a lot less$ than "past their prime" name coaches.
If a change is made, I bet the new coach comes from a team playing this weekend. I could see JR Payne, born in Tennessee, being the move if indeed DW is going to ax Kellie (I am still hoping he does not).

Believe that was true 5 years ago, hence Kellie hire. Seems like big boosters/corporate sponsors support NIL for football, baseball, and men’s basketball so why not women’s basketball? Seems like two biggest factors are BHC 1) doesn’t have big boosters/corporate sponsor connections and is ran more like a high school fundraiser group that hosts car washes, bake, and tshirt sales to raise money. 2) big boosters/corporate sponsors have seen Kellie in action and feel she doesn’t have tools to be an elite coach to bring back LVs basketball to F4s so they are waiting and withholding money.

Kellie’s postseason review with AD White will be interesting to see if anything changes. Kellie should be pushing White to bring in/introduce big boosters/corporate sponsors to BHC or require Spyre to handle LV programs too. Appears universities will probably oversee NIL process and make student athletes employees at some point so AD should be able to assist Kellie with NIL and more for a future coach. Past boosters to Lady Vol basketball, the ones with the deep pockets, absolutely HATE everything about NIL. They are old school and feel a student-athlete receiving tuition, books, room & board is sufficient. They are older, set in their ways, and refuse to give NIL $$$. It has nothing to do with the coaching, team play, etc. They are just against the principles of NIL.

Saying nothing is probably what he will do unless she is getting fired. No way she gets an extension or raise. He may make the vote of confidence speech if pushed to do so. Otherwise we'll just go into next season with her on the hot seat.

Interesting discussion on off the hook- Hooker thinks Kellie is back next year; Calhoun thinks the Cora Hall story is a signal, leaked by the UTAD, that a coaching change is coming once he hit the reduced buyout date.

So, we can definitively say, that Kellie may or may not be the LV head coach next season

But that silence coupled with Cora's story reporting on the details of her buyout clause is a different signal. The writing is on the wall.

I am not a big KJH fan as I was when she first got the job but I would be surprised if she does not get at least one more year.

Right. Cora's so smart. The AD or no one else would have had to leak those figures to her, nor remind her to relook at them nowKNS running it right now could easily be for the clicks while it's hot.

I could be very wrong, often am, and KJH may still get the axe, but I think this story is a reaction by the paper, not a pro action by the AD.
