Coach was concerned about all the blue being in TB arena saturday.

here's a suggestion, try communicating with the fans. I don't expect you to be as outspoken and BP but my goodness, you've been MIA when it comes to any type of interaction with the fan base. It really bugs me the guy brings this up now, though he's done nothing to help fan interest.

it's my opinion, he's done very little in terms of rallying the fans around this team and now midway through the year he's suddenly concerned.

Really...This guy was given a s*** team with hardly any talent left...loosing in recruiting...and to think that he would have had time to excite the fan base...he knows that he has to put something on the court before he can get the fan base excited...he did that with the recruiting of Stokes...

He should not have to get out there and beg fans to be fans. Do you think if this team was 16-0 and playing uk that there wouldn't be been more orange? Winning puts butts in the seats, if your a true fan you will attend whether coach is begging you to come or not. It is pathetic that you are requiring the university to ask you to attend and be a fan, and that you can't support them on your own. True fan.

i completely agree about the team he was given, but to be concerned now about our fans not showing is too little too late. if it's not his style to interact with the fans, then that's fine but don't be concerned about it now.

The Counz brought pizza to all the students lined up to get into the UK game. That's a move right out of the Bruce Pearl handbook.

I think it is a fair point to say CM doesn't do a lot in the PR department but to say he hasn't done anything to get the fans behind him is crazy.

The fact is that it isn't his style to do anything but let the product on the floor speak for itself. From everything I have seen so far that will take care of itself very soon.

I'm not requiring the university to do anything, I am THE true fan.

you could be the coach Bleeding and I'd still follow them.

This guy is not a cheerleader, fans shouldn't need to be asked to come to the game. Those who sold tickets in the lower level to KY fans need their tickets taken away.

Bruce came in and did what Kiffin had to do, re-energize and dead fan base. He had to go out and paint his chest or stand on tables to get the students involved. I do agree with him though, it's pretty sad when your teams #1 rival rolls into town and they have more fans than we do. Of course this is Tennessee, it's what's exepected.

Well sorry he didn't come to your house. I had a full conversation with him as he was walking around the UC handing out schedules and talking to all the students and staff that were present eating lunch last semester. Just because he didn't paint up for the Lady Vols doesn't mean he isn't reaching out to get fans bud.

Well good I'm glad because there obviously aren't many true fans or there would be more orange. Also, I feel the fan base should have rallied around him this year and been excited for this new start, I was upset to see attendance al far down this year.

Memphiscanes that's the first I have hear about that with the pizza, your right that I right from pearl. Kudos to ccm for rewarding the students who showed up or the game, a dumb thing like $5 pizza will get 18 year old kids all sorts of hyped it's insane.

I have a couple of thoughts on that game and attendance. Everyone knows that UK travels great for basketball games. They bring the house. Especially playing UT anywhere in Tennessee. The new capacity for TBA is 21,678. It was a full house for that game. To me, it's on UT fans to get the tickets before UK grabs them up. I understand the comment about exciting the fans ultimately it comes back on us.

I don't need him to come to my house, I'd cheer for them no matter who the coach is. the guys been nowhere to be found when it comes to garnering interest, but suddenly he's concerned and it bothers me wasn't more proactive.

i agree it's ultimately it's on us to get the tickets, but it doesn't hurt to rally the fans and it certainly helps the players to know the fans are fired up about playing KY.

He lets what happens on the court put people on seats he isn't Bruce pearl. Also, ccm DIDN'T BRING THIS UP, he wa asked by reporters what he thought about it. What else would you like him to say oh I am happy I love the color blue? He didn't go out of his way to mention the crowd he was asked about it an said exactly what anyone would, I'd like to see more orange.

Perception is the key here.

CM has done some things similar to BP per this thread but many of us hadn't heard about that.

BP always made sure there was a camera to get the word out he was doing these type things and therein lies a big difference in the two styles.

And to not sell their tickets to uk fans. Damn scalpers and stubhub.

Did I not just say he was walking around the UC talking to staff and students? Stop looking over things to prove YOUR point.
