Is now at Missouri. Does anyone know what happened at Cal? He left TN because apparently he didn't feel appreciated and it wasn't a good cultural fit. (A racist innuendo) But what is the story with this guy?

Where have you been, this is old news? Lol.

CCM is from Missouri, that or Purdue has always kind of been considered his dream job, so when it came open it was kind of a no-brainer.

I guess some crazy people don't follow sports all the time, and it's only a passing interest from time or time... who'd have thunk it? :pilot:

Exactly. People criticize those that don't live and breathe sports. I actually have a life.

917 is right; he leaves places before he gets fired, even if he wouldn't deserve getting fired (like at Tennessee).

A mark of Cuonzo's teams is that they are less than the sum of their parts. I don't know if that was the case at Missouri St, but it was the case at Tennessee outside of a 4-game stretch in the tourney in 2014 and it absolutely was the mark of his Cal teams. He actually recruited very well at Cal but didn't have a single tournament win to show for it.

He's at a school now where the expectations are almost nil, so it will be interesting to see if he stays there a while.

He had a couple good recruiting classes and couldn't do much with the talent. Think Cal was glad to see him go.

Missouri has arguably one of the best basketball traditions of all teams in the SEC outside of KY. The expectations are high and his recruiting has been outstanding. He won't last long if he doesn't get Missouri near the top of the SEC with that roster.

Because idiots in Knoxville ran him off. Good for him to get back home.

That isn't saying a whole lot - the SEC isn't a basketball conference.

Bball in the SEC has the potential to be very, very good. We have one of the all time great programs in UK. Lots of other teams are top notch or at least proven they can be, UF, USC, Arkansas, Vandy, Tennessee.

To be clear, im not an sec guy, i only like Tennessee, but the conference as a whole could be very good in bball.

Yeah, but not for an extended period of time.

The SEC in basketball is like the Big 12 in football. One or two storied programs, and a few other schools can have stretches of years where they can be good.

UT should have done a better job of making sure CM stuck around Knoxville, fans included.

He was an average to below average coach. The petition by the fans was ridiculous and never should have happened, but the guy is not a a great coach or motivator. I don't think he wanted to be here.

He'll do ok at Mizzou. He has a couple of one and done players to lean on his first year. He'll recruit well enough to stay there for as long as he's welcome.

While he did have a tournament run, nobody would even consider wanting him back without that improbable run. He felt slighted, and with good reason, with rumors of being denied use of private planes and fans just wanting Bruce back, but he wasn’t exactly a top tier coach when he left. He was never fully embraced by UT or it’s fans, and I don’t believe he ever fully embraced UT. I think he made the right choice for UT and himself. Now, about hiring that Tyndall guy who is under investigation.....

There's idiots everywhere. Facts are, CCM acted aloof, had a devil may care attitude towards boosters and then got bent when those same boosters pulled privileges like borrowing their private jet. When this happened he played the race card among his players and staff.

People didnt like him cause he didnt act like Bruce. Martin was a stand up guy that got the most from his players. Of course, i dont know all the behind the scenes stuff, but i dont believe he was treated fairly. And BBALL, has been awful since he left.
