Coach Martin's Twitter Account

So you're pretty much admitting the problem is with you not knowing what's going on, rather than Martin isn't doing enough?

he needs to come find fans. UT has lost many over the years. Win some back. Last year didn't help. We have former season ticket holders in our group of friends and alumni and knowbody knows whats going on with the program, and most are close to not caring.
If you aren't reaching all the people you should be reaching, you aren't doing enough. And that goes for anything.

Turn on your radio. He's spoke about three times since the end of season. Hate Zo much?

Satellite radio makes radio nonexistent. He needs other alternatives.
Don't hate CM. I watch what I see and post what I think. I don't think he can't coach offense and spacing and is slow to make changes, such as going to the 4-1. Message board posters call it hate. Basketball fans call it analysis.

This isnt analysis... This is a verdict. And the jury is still out.

Two things:
1. I don't think Zo is really that type of a coach. If he had it his way, he would be sticking to his job of a basketball coach and nothing more.
2. However, I think he has really embraced social media. I mentioned before that I don't use twitter, but I see his tweets copied all of the time, especially during the school year visiting students. Maybe because of the age of your crowd, they don't use social media? You can find twice the information about our programs if you use social media and the internet. If a person doesn't care about social media and the internet, then they aren't really trying to find out much anyway. Sign of the times. JMO.

No it isn't. What he may do in the future is hypothetical. Only thing I have seen as far as coaching offense shows me he needs help. Mcrae going off on one on one moves and Stokes cleaning up isn't teaching offense.

I promise you J Rich's offense wasnt near where it is now, when hhe got here. I wont argue that our offense was definitely lacking, but 2 years:

1. With a suspect pg
2. Missing your best offensive threat year 2

Does he put more emphasis on defense? absolutely
Doesnt mean he cant coach offense tho. JMO

I thought that was a recent UT letter at first and was thinking, "Man ... Surely we have somebody on campus with better graphics skills than that!

The basketball/hoop looks like it was drawn with a colored pencil.

Are you telling me what I do and don't listen to? I stopped listening to talk radio. Same old stuff everyday. Don't know many people who do.

Your response makes absolutely zero sense. You said radio was nonexistent. I said that wasn't true. Then you talk about Me saying what you do and don't listen to, which I never ever ever ever ever ever came close to saying. What the hell kind of response is that?

Not in basketball. Attendance is still fantastic.

Someone said listen to the radio to hear him. I said satellite makes radio talk obsolete for many. You said that was ridiculous.
What did I miss?

You said verbatim "radio is nonexistent." I said that's incredibly untrue. Lets stick to what actually was said.

Saying "radio is nonexistent" is factually incorrect.

Radio is nonexistent to me and others that don't listen to it anymore. That was the point of not hearing him on the radio. Of course radio is there and some people listen. Many more don't.

Cause that small group of people is a great representation of everybody that listens to the radio. I'm glad those twenty are enough for you to determine that given the population of this state.

Interesting article about some of the recruits who may have received this letter. I remember watching this game as an 8 year old. Enjoy!!

When Temple came to Tennessee 35 years ago this week, what happened was one of the more bizarre memories of the Ray Mears Era.

After 40 minutes, the Vols walked off the floor at Stokely Athletics Center an 11-6 winner in the lowest-scoring game of the modern era in college basketball.

The date was Dec. 15, 1973, the championship of the Volunteer Classic tournament. Temple coach Don Casey didn’t want to run with the Vols and had his Owls hold the ball for 32 of the 40 minutes.

Mears refused to budge from his zone defense so virtually nothing happened. Freshman Ernie Grunfeld scored to break a 5-5 tie with 12:44 left in the first half and Temple stalled until the break.

The second half passed without a field goal by either team. John Snow hit a technical free throw to make it 8-5 with 17:58 to play and the Owls went back into the deep freeze. Snow hit three more foul shots in the final seconds.

The 1973-74 Vols finished 17-9. The shot clock wasn’t introduced to the college game until 1985.

As crazy as it sounds, I would love to watch a replay of that game. Is it available anywhere?

Wrong again. 93% of Americans listen to the radio every week. Talk radio still has a decent share of listeners. Is terrestrial radio changing? For sure. But you'd be surprised how many people still listen.

I have to believe sports talk in Memphis is pretty damn popular. Only 2 stations, and I have had many conversations with people who listen. But we also have a pro team.

The % of people listening to the radio is going down every year with new technology and the average age getting older and older. My kids are on an iPod. No radio.
And I didn't say my circle was a representation of everyone. Its a sample, and a pretty big sample. I don't know anyone who deals with ads anymore on the radio. I try to flip through sometimes or listen to talk radio, but I get bored with it. Callers are generally weak.
