I understand now why we are awful. I have sat here and watched us be 5-7 and 4-8 for so long. We finally get a good coach and y’all want to run him out of the building! When was the last time our football team was ranked and had a chance at a new years six game or the playoffs? He is working with scholarship restrictions along with injuries. However I still believe he is one (if not the best) offensive coaches in the country.

The only people who want Josh gone are either trolls or idiots. The overreaction when we lose is hilarious.

Finally, a sane post!

I’m 100% on the CJH bandwagon. I think given time he’ll work it out. Having said that, I believe the offensive/defensive game plan/play calling cost us this game. I don’t know what injuries or circumstances were limiting things but it looked like no one was in the right position to succeed on either side of the ball.

I always knew my posts on this message board directly impacted decision making and play on the field. Thank for confirming. Now if i can just get that remote to come to me when i use the force, all will be right in the world.

We’re not supposed to be better than last year. This year epitomizes the definition of a “rebuild year,” and it is the reason we aren’t throwing Nico to the wolves and burning his redshirt.

In addition to this… Keep in mind that we are still looking at an 8-4+ season, which is light years better than where we were in a rebuild under the last 3 coaches.

Next year may be much of the same, but I expect ‘25, with an experienced Nico and a veteran Sampson, along with Heupel’s recruits, to be the season we vie for a Championship.

I am pretty sure the vast majority of us don’t want Heupel gone. But at the same time, you can’t help but be upset with him right now. We got donkey stomped and vastly out coached by Eli Dorkowitz and his staff. This is year 3. That loss shouldn’t have happened.

So then next year will also be a rebuilding year, since the team would be again breaking in a new QB? What makes this year a rebuilding year vs next year?
I would call next year just as much if not more of a rebuilding year given the number of players the team will lose this year (13) vs last year (11).

I’m pi$$ed and make no mistake, tonight hurt, but I am still on board with Heup.
Hell, he can’t be any worse than the last 3 bozos.
We have to let this play out. Maybe Heup needs to make some staff changes, maybe he needs to give his assistants time? Maybe we need to recruit better?
I’m convinced that Heup is learning to coach at a big time level and if we give him time, we’ll be ok.
Maybe I’m blinded by Tennessee love, like I was with the last 4, idk?
🤷‍♂️

If fans on a message board are the reason your team sucks for 15 years , that’s absurd. The reason a University sucks for 15 yrs is the University administration and boosters period. You want to win you hire a coach that can and will win.

Not Butch Jones
Not Derrick Dufus Dooley
Not Jeremy (Potatoe head) Pruitt

There is your 10+ years of sucking.

I disagree until a coach puts up more point than UGA did in it's second Natty.

So coach hyperbole might be good, but 100% the best and until he has back to back natty's or wins the SEC multiple times or sets a new scoring differential IN a national championship game, I'm going to go with a coach that has done those things.

SEC has at least 3 coaches that are better than vols current coach.

Agreed! I can accept losing to Saban and Kirby, but the losses to Dorkowitz, Napier and the clown at USC, are what drive me nuts!

Agreed, 8-4 is a welcome change from the past. A lot of us had hoped for better. If Heupel turns out to just be an 8/9 win a year coach, it will be a nice change but will get frustrating after a while. Especially if the losses are where the team just gets dominated.

He shouldn't be fired. That's absurd. However, the overreaction to criticisms of him because we won 11 games a year ago and beat Alabama on a last-second field goal is equally absurd.
What we saw tonight are the same reasons we missed the playoff last year when we got embarrassed in Columbia:
- Putrid defense.
- Undisciplined play on both sides of the ball.
- Getting torched in road games, but this time with the addition of abhorrent play calling and awful offensive play, particularly at the QB position.

All but 2 wins have been ugly. Every loss has been ugly. Shouldn't be happening in year 3.
