I’m 100% on the CJH bandwagon. I think given time he’ll work it out. Having said that, I believe the offensive/defensive game plan/play calling cost us this game. I don’t know what injuries or circumstances were limiting things but it looked like no one was in the right position to succeed on either side of the ball.
I think there are additional things that cost us today's game: lack of discipline. The actual plays and their execution. Unproductive practices or maybe just practicing the wrong things. We wasted a couple of timeouts in the past couple of weeks too.,

He shouldn't be fired. That's absurd. However, the overreaction to criticisms of him because we won 11 games a year ago and beat Alabama on a last-second field goal is equally absurd.
What we saw tonight are the same reasons we missed the playoff last year when we got embarrassed in Columbia:
- Putrid defense.
- Undisciplined play on both sides of the ball.
- Getting torched in road games, but this time with the addidtion of abhorrent play calling and awful offensive play, particularly at the QB position.

All but 2 wins have been ugly. Every loss has been ugly. Shouldn't be happening in year 3.

I understand now why we are awful. I have sat here and watched us be 5-7 and 4-8 for so long. We finally get a good coach and y’all want to run him out of the building! When was the last time our football team was ranked and had a chance at a new years six game or the playoffs? He is working with scholarship restrictions along with injuries. However I still believe he is one (if not the best) offensive coaches in the country.
We want Banks gone. Heupel gets a couple more years at least

Who wants to run him out of the building? Classic case of sending an email to the whole staff for the actions of a few.

Go over and venture in the “Meltdown in Progress” thread 😂😂😂
Yea, seen it.

For me I've got to give everyone a pass tonight. I'm pissed just like everyone else. Those that have been around awhile have seen the Vols melt down way too many times over the years. It's soul crushing.

I still believe in Josh. He will right this ship. 9 and 4 this year. Next? hoping much much better.

If you expected this team to be better than last year’s team that’s on you. I’d say most expected a slight step back with all the talent that departed
I would argue we should always improve. Did you expect to lose to Florida? Missouri? Bama was a given but how much faith do you have Banks can beat ga. Even at home

No way this should happen in year 3. We got manhandled and out coached... prepared....out schemed.....by a Missouri team led by DrinaWink. Not good anyway you want to spin it.

Had a buddy text me that was at the game and said.....It made our USC game last year look like a 4 quarter dogfight.

I think what is bothering a lot of us is that we thought we were at the point of being competitive again, but then you drop games to Florida and Mizzou, where you weren’t even really competitive.

The head coach is not the problem. The defensive scheme we ran tonight was a problem. The effort I saw with this team, with so much on the line was not what it should have been. Our secondary coach is a BIG problem, and will get Josh fired if doesn’t address it this year. I’ll take 8 and 4 regular season after losing so many to the NFL draft last year. With Texas and Oklahoma enter the mix, I’d be very careful about replacing a caliber coach we have. Go Vols!

The oline is going to be worse next year lol

You don’t know that. Experience wise that will be worse. But size will be the same or even better. And a bunch of the starters will be in their second offseason program here.

This doom and gloom with the offensive line next year is about as bad as the Fire Heupel crowd.

Are you happy with our recruiting. Everyone loses players every year, Bama has reloaded most of the time. If ga can recruit good players with a weak schedule then why can't we

Bama also has a pipeline of 4/5 stars every year replacing guys every year. We still have guys who Pruitt recruited and that doesn’t even take into account the holes from the transfer exodus that Heupel had to deal with.

In terms of the recruiting pipeline replacing talent with equal or better talent, you need 3-5 years to build it. Not saying a coach deserves 3-5 seasons to be judged but in terms of having that recruiting pipeline, the limit each year means you need 3-5 years to turnover 75-100 guys.

Why would anyone chose Florida, Missouri, or Georgia over playing at Tennessee. Our history, our coaching staff. Yes we were #16 in recruiting this year but why would anyone chose Florida, Missouri, Georgia, or South Carolina over us.

We need top notch coordinators which we don’t have. Plus, Martinez should never of been hired in the first place……..

Buddy, history means nothing here. As time goes on, the golden years of Tennessee’s history happened before most recruits were born….. the only history of Tennessee to recruits these days are 15 years of dysfunction and misery.
