I'm new to this post so bear with me. We all have our wish list of hires, but I do believe there was a telling statement in the Danny White presser though. He mentioned something in effect about us not needing him if he were to hire whoever the fans wanted. I agree we need a big time hire to get us through and out of this situation we are in, but all things considered he's not had a bad football hire in his tenure as an AD anywhere. I will give a little on the fact that those weren't power 5 schools, but I am willing to let this guy get his guy. I mean after all, if it doesn't work out then we get to do this again in another 3 years (sarcasm)!! Go Vols!!!

He is the head football coach at the University of Tennessee football. He has been serving in that role since January 24th 2021. Before such role he was head coach of the Oregon Ducks.

His basketball hires are really good, but that’s his bread and butter, his family ties. He’s never hired existing HC for football, every chance he hired an OC.

Leipold is 37-33, Frost 31-27, and Heupel is 28-8. BUT, he’s never had this budget to work with. He raised UCF from the dirt. He quadrupled their fundraising which means he’s very good at getting people to buy in.

This is what I’ve been saying. He knows way more about these coaches than we do. Because he has the sources, the intel, and it’s his job to know. We have Wikipedia.

I am loving this search...it is the diametrical opposite of any search in recent memory. I think the one thing we can all agree on is that nobody has any clue of who it will be. The disinformation is thick, and the misdirection's keep showing themselves.

I am still of the opinion that we may be pleasantly surprised with someone beyond our expectations that haven't even been mentioned seriously.
