Someone i knew sent me an email saying this he must have been wrong

Need TCU to lose or Oregon to drop one. Oregon leap frogs us if they win out.

Disagree. Oregon will not leapfrog us if both we and they win out. Neither in this poll, nor--more importantly--in the CFP standings.

Three key reasons:

(a) head-to-head comparison: the one opponent we and Oregon have in common is UGa. Oregon lost 49-3. We lost 27-13.
(b) best win: we have #6 Bama under our belt. Oregon has #12 Utah.
(c) Top 25 wins: we have 5, Oregon has--or will have, if they win out--3 or 4.

In every objective measure, we have the upper hand. They're not passing us.

Makes sense - UT the best of the one loss teams for certain.

TCU situation still concerns me. They need a bad road game like we had against either Texas or Baylor...either or both are capable.

I don't miss the "we're the best 4-loss team in America" days of Butch Jones.

I would love a Sugar Bowl between 11-1 Tennessee and 12-0 TCU

I tend to agree they won’t pass us but if we start behind them that’s where we would be in trouble. I think we will be in front though.

I don't expect the CFP to make a SEC vs SEC semifinal. I think Tennessee being an at large team would be weighed against the one loss conf champ.... Tennessee would be favored bigly vs PAC 12 champ, Big 12 champ, ACC Champ.....

The CFP will be those 4 unbeaten teams. Tennessee will be in the first two out. We take care of business and blow out Mizz, SC and Vandy and it’ll be hard to argue we aren’t one of the four best teams in college football.

Oregon lost by 46 points on a neutral field to the same team we lost to by 14 in Athens. There’s no comparison.

TCU is irrelevant in our playoff positioning as we are competing for a different spot than them. 13-0 UGA and we are the #3 team in the playoff if we finish at 11-1. TCU's playoff hopes are for the 4 spot.

They have to play Baylor as well plus they will replay Baylor or Texas or Kansas State in the Championship game as it appears.
