Coaching Carousel rumors, memo to Coach Cal

Kiffin made the most sense as Tennessee's head coach.
I never said he wouldn't be head coach -- never.
If you go back into my blogs, you'll see I was the first Knoxville writer to say he was a leading candidate -- check the first week of November, hoss...
Can't stand idiots who misquote me.

So what about Troy Calhoun and Brian Kelly? You wrote all about Calhoun's "interview"

Hooker was the one that said Kiffin was a pipe dream.

And I'm not attacking you just having a little fun "idiot".

This should be fun. Writer for an actual newspaper vs. the "Thread Starter"

Face it Griff, Hat has his nose so far up Calipari's rear end, he can't help but be insulted when you call the Conference USA champs out.
He called Memphis out? I wouldn't know. If I wanted to read his spam I'd go to the KNS website.

the set of actual writers for newspapers is littered with blithering idiots with no ability whatsoever to reason or analyze. The college sports beat is probably the sorriest of that lot.

You hate Greg Adkins? You hate me? You are having a bad day?

Adkins is a very good coach -- I stand behind that, and so does anyone who has any knowledge of the college football coaching circles.

I don't mind mixing it up with someone who has informed opinions -- me and the VolFreak have gone round and round for years.

That's fun.

Personal attacks are not -- and the only reason I bother with you is with the hope you will stop your bullying tactics and allow info to flow freely on this board.

That's what we're all here for -- not some half-witted rip jobs out of anonymity.
As opposed to your half witted kiss up jobs to Bruce Pearl?

How exactly do you call out Memphis?

don't kid yourself. You're here to pimp your articles and blog.

Adkins is a disaster of an offensive line coach, as our consistently deteriorating line play over the past decade attests. Anything else is just talk.

Steven Pearl could play for a mid-major Division I program. Fact.

I never projected him as a starter with the Vols -- not even close.

I gave the kid kudos for playing well in Europe some 18 months ago.

It was news, and it's my job to report it.

If he didn't play well, I'd have reported that as well.

You keep looking for agendas...mine is to be accurate in my reporting and share my informed opinion.

You don't have to agree with it -- we all have our own different perspective.

But personal attacks are ridiculous and out of line. If you are attacking me, I can only imagine what you're doing to the first-time poster who is looking for a board to settle on.

Kind of defeats the purpose and takes the fun out of reading, in my opinion.

But, if it's what is keeping you from kicking your dog....:matrix:

I hate the product Adkins helped put on the field. Hate requires a certain level of emotional investment. Thus, I don't hate you because you walking in front of a bus or winning the Powerball would have equal effect on me. None. Every day is a good day for me.

Not trying to take sides here, but guys like hat I've seen basically have unpopular opinions and get absolutely ripped for them, even when he has facts and good arguments to back them up. I'm not saying he's perfect but I've seen his criticisms met with replies basically just telling him to shut up.

I don't care who was coaching the line last season ...with a new (confusing) scheme and a lack of talent at the skill positions, it would not have mattered.

I hesitate to call you out, because I remember your name as someone with relative merit on this board.

I just don't get it -- I post a blog with some speculation I've gotten from someone in the coaching community and you blast me?

What's up with that? I have heard some people critical of me for not posting more or taking part in more discussions.....after this sophomoric exchange do you really wonder why?

What would make you think I treat you any differently than anyone else around here?

If you are this crude to everyone, I will say a prayer for you.

Sometimes I forget that some people have miserable lives and need to put others down to feel better about themselves.

That's really too bad.

I hope the sun shines in your world soon. Everyone deserves happiness. Life is too short, you know?:wavey:

1. Presumably, you forgot the previous 5 years of ineptitude. Wonder how?

2. I don't understand this. I'm here to mix it up, as are many and that makes this place as entertaining as it is. The day it becomes a bunch of lame ass links to sports journalism and niceties, I'm outta here.

3. I blast you because I view your links as spam. I think you need this joint to boost readership. I understand you wanting to generate traffic, but do not understand how you get special treatment. The vast majority here can find the site if they want to read something worthwhile. In fact, if it's worthwhile, someone else will generally link it for you.

4. This sophomoric exchange is very much a part of what this board is. You don't seem to have a problem with it when you're spamming us. What's up with that?

Yes, I do.

I don't think he would star, but based on what I've seen over the past four years, yeah, he's better than some mid-major players.

Steven plays hard, and he plays good defense.

Not sure why that's so hard to believe...

That was not a personal attack....in my business, anyone who misquotes anyone is an idiot.

It's a cheap shot, and it's wrong to falsely portray information.

People get fired for that and lose credibility quickly.

Just because you have an anonymous handle doesn't give you the right to skew information.

At least, not in my book. Maybe I take it more seriously because of what I do.

But that's who I am. This is what I do for a living, and I work very hard to do it as well as I can.

Yeah, my life's just awful. I had to make the tough decsion today of what style Armani to but for this year's Kentucky Derby and I'm deciding between heading to Detroit for the Final Four or going to Cincinnati for Opening Day. In a time when many people are sadly losing their jobs and struggling to pay their bills, I'm a 38 year old guy who works when he wants to, not because he has to. I'll be marrying an utterly fabulous woman this summer. So, you can try your dimestore psychoanalysis on someone else. It failed miserably here.

It's hard to beleve because on my last trip to Philadelphia, I saw Temple, LaSalle, Saint Joe's, and Saint Bonaventure. Steve Pearl would not see the first meaningful minute on any of those teams. He tries hard. Good for him. That doesn't mean he has the first modicum of legitimate D-I basketball talent.

First off I never quoted you second off I'm not very anonymous.

You talked all about Calhoun and Kelly in your blogs and, if I'm not mistaken, talked about Kelly being the frontrunner, which was false. If Kelly is the frontrunner, Kiffin is not the coach correct?

You don't have to explain to me how journalists do their jobs. I've sat beside you on press row at UT basketball games this past fall. I wrote for the AP.
