I don't think it matters what Charlie Strong does, Texas is gonna make sure they get Tom Herman before anyone else. But I agree with LouderVol as well, Helton is doomed and should prolly be #2 on that list.

Some of the boosters are and him and Pickens are at each others throats again.

Pickens has the final say in such matters. And I don't see him giving up on his fair haired adopted child just yet.

Boosters can grumble all day long, but when one's name is on the side of the stadium, one has far more sway in such matters. Trust me, this win against Texas will go a long way to soothing ill feelings and Coach Holder knows the OSU program will suffer hugely if they try a coaching change right now.

His wannabe McGyver mullet should be enough to put him on the hotseat.

I'll give you that. He came running out from the sideline yesterday and I didn't even recognize him. I thought "who's this hillbilly MFer?" lol

Stoops isn't going to be fired...he was in the playoffs last year...now next year if he doesn't beat Texas and win the Big12 you might start hearing some rumblings

There are rumblings now. Not at the higher levels that I've heard, but the donors just put a lot of money into a stadium renovation and expect something back on that deal. And when OU isn't winning or at least competing at the highest levels, they lose revenue on that investment.

Stoops has to be careful or he runs the risk of becoming a Les Miles, Phil Fulmer or Mark Richt.

As long as David Boren and Joe Castiglione are in Norman, Bob Stoops is fine.

They said the same thing about Mack Brown (i.e., he has allies in the admin of the school and would never be fired). Boosters run the show. If they want a new coach, they'll get one.

I don't think Mahlzan's seat is as hot as we all think. May be wrong. On Finebaum the week before last when they were at Auburn the AD did give him that vote of confidence and more times than not that is usually the kiss of death.

Glad we didn't end up with Charlie Strong. He's been a disaster at Texas.

I'm surprised he hasn't been able to turn it around. He recruited his brains out at Louisville and won a BCS bowl - he went 23-3 his last 2 years there. Just too much recruiting competition in the State of Texas?

Oregon will carefully consider their replacement. They still want to be the flashy team. cant go to a pro or even a "basic" spread coach. they may have to go to lower ranks to find someone to fill that coaching niche.

maybe instead of stealing the QB from the next FCS foe they instead steal the coach.

Franklin got the dreaded vote of confidence -- could he be going back to Vandy, nobody else would want him would they ?

His lack of success at Penn State is a little baffling to me too. All of the sanctions/child sex fallout is over. He won 9 games at Vanderbilt twice and can't get Penn State over the hump. What gives?
