He had a good year last season but I'm not sold on him. He's not Meyer or Spurrier. He can be out manuevered. How does Butch match up with him? Can he outchess muschump?

i find it funny that people pick on him the way they do.

he's the head coach and is responsible for the whole team. so, he's ultimately responsible for the offensive side of the ball too.

however, he's a defensive guy. he handles the defense. the defense is going to be at a championship level as long as he is around.

so, for what he personnally is involved with, he is a superior coach.

Butch is better at X and O, but Floridas defense may stifle our offense is we can't get some big plays. Their D is good. We might can stop their O if A.J. Can cover the middle

Butch is the better coach, but right now I think UF's speed talent is the greatest common denominator here
Butch got beat by Double D...Muschamp didnt. UF took the cinderblock approach imstead of the brick by brick method. We need linemen bad!!

I am not impressed with him at all. I think he is a great DC, but an average HC overall. CUM was a damn good coach. They are both pretty crappy people though.

He made Louisville look good, he isn't a coach I'd want. The talent differential between UF and UL should not made that a possibility.

Could be the fall of Florida in years to come. If Florida goes down, remember the sucked for 60 years and good the last 25 years could be hard to bring back

the fact that some of you deep down think this is possible is hilarious.

Yep. While the mediocre for a long time part is true, the going down and not coming back up is unlikely. Even with and if Miami and FSU are good and the Gators did slide for a bit, there is plenty of talent in the state for all 3 for a decent coach to bring it back and UF is one of the biggest institutions as far as number of students, has a ton of money, etc, etc.

UT should be in a similar but not exactly same situation minus the huge high level talent recruiting pool in the state though

Good coach. But some in the UF fanbase are going to have to accept the fact he will never operate an exciting offense. He'll run a conservative system that, in theory, doesn't turn the ball over and methodically keeps the chains moving and the defense fresh for the attack.

The only excitement Florida fans will ever get from a Muschamp offense is with a dynamic home-run hitter at tailback. Fred Taylor's kid could be that guy. Don't want to see him on the field.

Such a presence in that offense would open up things for their play-action passing game. This too would give the old Spurrier Goaters something to feel good about.

We sucked for 60 years because the demographics of the Sunshine State were completely different in 1953 versus 2013.

Florida wasn't the most populous state in the Southeast 60 years ago, and there was this thing called segregation that sent elite athletes to FAMU and Grambling instead of UF and LSU.

So what you are saying is that your team was full of 70 year old white guys with eligibility back then?

great DC but an average HC that will only be abe to win by out talenting other teams...the system he runs is purestraight aheadtalent on talent fotball...nothing giicky or tricky...however, his team this year in year 3 of his tenure looks very sloppy thus far...

it is hard to say right now,if he finds a OC that will open up the offense some,he could very well have a long and successful tenure as the HC at Fla

and who the hell knows what CBJ will do,he has done and said everything right so far,is the mighty SEC over his head ? only time will tell and yes,he will need more than 3 years to make the improvements to get back to the levels CPF had his teams at
