Coaching matters. How good is Muschump?

We sucked for 60 years because the demographics of the Sunshine State were completely different in 1953 versus 2013.

Florida wasn't the most populous state in the Southeast 60 years ago, and there was this thing called segregation that sent elite athletes to FAMU and Grambling instead of UF and LSU.

So Florida was the last redneck school to segregate?

Who in the hell cares about Muschamp? We have many things to worry about, but Muschamp ain't one of them.

He's not a good coach at all Imo. They were the worst 11 win team in the country last year. They're just winning based on talent right now. That won't happen forever.

fla fans got spoiled with the title by spurrier and 2 by meyer and expect every coach to do the same thing. it doesn't work that way. plus, meyer got lucky and won titles with tebow.

Meyer had an undefeated season at Utah before Tebow, and another undefeated season at Ohio State after Tebow. Love or hate the man, but he can flat out coach.

As for UF fan expectations, we expect to compete for SEC titles, and if the planets line up, national titles. To your point it doesn't always work out that way.

He had a good year last season but I'm not sold on him. He's not Meyer or Spurrier. He can be out manuevered. How does Butch match up with him? Can he outchess muschump?

He may be a good DC, which is debatable, but he's a bad HC or at least he has been so far. His team is poorly conditioned and poorly coached. Any team that has that many penalties is poorly coached. With the talent Fla has they should be a better team than they are. Compared to Jones, Jones hasn't coached enough games in a good conference to judge yet but I personally like Jones better. IMO Muschamp will be gone in 3-4 years after making R Zook look like a genius.

The head coach is responsible for everything!!! Including who he hires as OC (Charlie Weiss) that worked out didn't it.

He is also responsible for having his team prepared and ready to play!! What a great coaching job he did against LOUISVILLE!!

Right now, get real he hasn't proven (or disproven) how good a coach he is.

But he does appear to look like a deer in headlights at times. MUSCHUMP!!!

He is 0-6 in the Florida/Georgia game.

One other thing Florida SUCKS!!1

Something is amiss here......

Nonsense...you can argue whether or not Muschamp is a "good" head coach, but to debate his ability to coach up elite defenses is laughable.

If UT brought in a coach with Muschamp's credentials and he won 11 games his second year...and extended the winning streak over Florida...you guys would be ready to build the man a statue.

They'll be in every game because of their defense.. He's a good defensive coach. I guess we'll see how good of a head coach he is this year. I say 7-5, 8-4 is about where they land.. Their defense is stout.

Losing our starting QB and defensive leader, I'll gladly take 8-4.

LSU, UGA and South Carolina will be tough games.

UT had a shot at him. Would have been better than the last three hires. Imagine Bray and the offense the last 3 years and Muschamp D. We would be 10 wins every year.

Lost your starting QB? Oh yeah, he managed to get replaced by a BETTER QB.

And then you lost 1 defensive player, granted a gifted player, but I wouldn't chalk up 4 losses because of it.

if our offense doesnt start getting better by next yr ill admit he's nothing more then a great d-coord could be a great head coach if he hired the right oc and let him do his thing but i mean after we bring in this class with grier, cook, lane etc the talent will be there at the skill positions for sure its just a matter of developing it

I swear there should be an IQ test required before people can post on here. We have one of the largest conglomerates of dumbass fans, rivaled only by Bama and UK.

Muschamp has beaten us 3 straight times, fairly soundly each time, against 2 different coaches, with his players and with CUM's players. Anyone who tries to discount his ability to coach up and motivate a team is grasping at straws to somehow make our situation not seem so bad.

Not a VFL.
