Coaching Search Thread

Are you really still on the anti-Frank kick? The guy has coached in college. He understands that you have to recruit. He would be the best tactician of anyone on our board, and he could sell kids that he could get them to the League. Those are all excellent, excellent qualities.

Actually, my response was just part of my anti-"what a goober" kick. Someone takes the time to post a message in a public forum and with no argument at all gets that. I am not convinced (as you can obviously tell) that Frank is a home run hire -- the tactician thing, for instance, I see no evidence for yay or nay -- but that wasn't what this was about.

100% was thinking of him. Why else would we be watching Richmond play. Marshall will get a chance as well. Possible presser next sunday.

I just hope it's not between Tuesday and Saturday next week (I'll be traveling with limited internet access) and that we get someone good. :fingers crossed:

Xavier coach Chris Mack rejected an overture from Tennessee this week, a source told CBSSports.com. Story: Source: Xavier's Mack rejects UT's overture - CBSSports.com

Maybe its just me, but I wouldn't think a school would make an offer without interviewing and selecting that candidate first. Parrish makes it sound as though they approached him to see if he'd be interested in talking and he even rejected that possibility. There's no way we threw down that kind of committment to a guy we hadn't even spoken with.

Parrish is a douche, and loves railing on UT. Not surprising.

Goodman reporting that we've reached out to Shaka Smart and Donnie Jones.

We can do better.

I certainly hope so. Getting nervous after reading so many comments about us not wanting to pay. Almost think they are resigned to hiring Mooney. Not saying he is a bad coach but I have to think UT would pay 2 mil and that would attract a proven coach.

Really Grant?

The SEC was unbelievably terrible and he still couldn't get his squad to the tournament. He has done well, but I don't think he's that proven.
That had much more to do with scheduling than anything. They scheduled to get a winning record and go to the NIT. They did exactly what they set out to do. That said...someone that schedules that soft for any reason scares me.

If they scheduled tougher teams, they probably would have lost more games.

We don't need Stevens as our next basketball coach. He has obviously made a deal with the devil. Wow, what a win! :naughty:
