Buy one Freak, it's $30 tops, plus a bag of coffee. You can get elaborate with a bean grinder and whole bean coffee, but it's not really needed for a good cup of coffee.

I was hooked on K-cups for years, it gets expensive after a while, considering how much coffee I drink in a days time.

I bet you'll love it.

I'll add that you can make it as strong or weak as you like.

It really removes any hint of bitterness so you really taste the coffee.

I've used mine 90% of the time since I started this thread in 2008.

So finer grind for seepage issue, huh?

I don't do super fine but do a fine grind. About what a non-adjustable blade grinder would deliver (a bit finer than ground coffee from store).

If I fill water to the 4 mark then it will seep to the 3 mark before I start plunging.

I put enough coffee in to fill the cap and maybe about a 1/4 inch more.

Water to the 4, stir for 10 seconds then plunge for about 15 - 20 seconds.

I use water that is just rolling (not yet boiling).

Lots of youtubes about different methods but the above one works for me.

I tried the inverted one and accidentally pulled the plunger out - burnt the ever-loving crap out of my hand. Not worth it.

I just follow the instructions that came with it. Truly a perfect cup of coffee.

It's hard to beat and you never, ever get a bad cup of coffee.

Once you have the process down it's very routine and I never have to pour out left over coffee from a coffee maker.

I drink coffee black, too. Just depends on what kind of coffee I get. I found a killer Costa Rican bean that I love black, but my local coffee shop doesn't brew it often.

This is one of my favorite coffees:
