Coker is back.

What if just maybe Coker has fulfilled his obligations to the team and the school and just maybe he has finally learned his lesson and maybe he has a banner year and maybe he keeps his head on straight and has a successful nfl career and provides for his future family and charities, etc and maybe even finishes his degree and lives a happy fulfilled life.

Or maybe we should have just kicked him off the team already so that he could go get a dead end job and do nothing for the rest of his life.

If he screws up now, then good bye forever but maybe he will make the most of it.

It is worth a last chance. Final, Final.

Sorry, chief. Good try.

First, that's not what rankled UT fans last year. They were miffed that Thomas came back to play them, in the SEC opener. Second, the fans posting here are pleased because he will be back for UF. Its a subjective kind of thing. You can't complain that Thomas came back to play UT, claim that Meyer is weak, and then be happy that Fulmer let Coker back on the team so he can play Florida. Third, if you read the posts on this site, no one seems to think that Cal is 1/5 the challenge of, say, Florida.

Personally, I'm glad for the young man that he is acting responsibly. I hope he plays well and overcomes his problems. I'd rather you be full strength, anyway.

woah man. nobody here is a "chief". dont start that with us.

Nope, 2 years off it, and nobody who coached or was in administration then is still at UK.

I stand by my assessment.

Rumor is he missed a drug counseling session for a postive drug test (marijuana) he had last year. I doubt Kentucky would have suspended him.

Foster had an opportunity to make the case to be the starter in the bowl game. Instead he fumbled twice.

Actually, I think it is a joke for UF to suspend a guy for a 1AA opponent instead of a meaningful game closer to the point where the facts are known.

I don't know how different the situations are since the details of Coker's suspension are mostly rumor. They haven't issued an official explanation and don't appear to be inclined to.

It was never announced that he was going to be suspended for games though.

To your point, if I were king, the rules would be much more strict. If this is a third offense for drugs, he should be gone. I love his talent but that kind of undisciplined behavior is poison and shouldn't be rewarded with light punishment.

If you read my posts, I don't think either should be an overwhelming challenge if UT is a good football team this year. I don't buy the hype of Cal or UF. Cal lost much of their defensive talent and UF lost most of their defense period.

Since this is the system we have, me too.

That seems to be true, but think about it a little more. It would have seemed even fishier if the guy was allowed to play in the game against Southwest Missouri Community College immediately following his transgression and then suspend for the UT game. Had they done that, UF would have gotten in trouble.
