Colin Cowherd knows football

he really disparages the south/southern football.:nono:

Not really. All he disparages are the lunatic fans and moronic homer callers. He has said on numerous occasions that the SEC is where the best football is played. I heard him last week suggesting that Ohio State join the SEC because they have the tradition, talent and delusional fan base to fit right in.

Too many of the lunatics and moron homers think they are southern football.

Me too . . . IMO he's one of the few national guys worth listening to for anything other than pro sports.

have you ever heard Cowherd's rant on strippers? "dont date anyone that has less to lose than you", it's laugh out loud funny

I was listening to Cowherd's broadcast today, and he was talking about the new BCS rankings. He said UT got screwed.

I couldn't agree more. How do you get to his info?

He has a daily radio show from 10 to 1 EST on ESPN radio, which I get through Sirius sattelite radio. If you're an ESPN Insider, you can download different topics of his from
ESPN.com - ESPNRADIO - The Herd with Colin Cowherd
near the bottom on the right. He can be over the top, but usually it's hilarious. Covers all sports, but deals with college football more than most other hosts

On today's program Cowherd was doing his Sports version of Buy, Sell, or Hold, where callers throw out a team or athlete, and Colin gives them his blunt opinion. One of the callers said the University of Tennessee and Erik Ainge. Instead of just answering him, he stated playing the chorus of that Nsync song that goes "Bye, Bye, Bye". He reiterated that the Vols are one of the very top teams in the country and we shouldn't be shocked if they are playing in the last football game of the year! He's not getting my hopes up that high, but it is great to hear a national sports guy saying such positive stuff about the program, especially after what we've been through with the 5-6 year and all the arrests.
Also, soon after that another call asked about West Virginia, and Cowherd said something to the tune of "Sell em like a flea-ridden dog". It was hilarious. He bashes them practically everyday for their Div 1 AAAAAAAA schedule. hahaha
Go Vols!

Nice... I tend to agree about West Virginia. I don't think they really deserve a shot at the national title unless every other team out there has a loss. Although I'm willing to give them a smidge of a pass on the schedule, if Rutgers and Pitt are indeed any good.

From the ESPN webpage

Alabama at No. 7 Tennessee
Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, CBS
Tennessee had a week to recharge its batteries after a big win over then-No. 10 Georgia. The Vols get Alabama at home Saturday in front of a rejuvenated crowd at Neyland Stadium. Tennessee's passing game gives it a huge advantage, and the offensive line has done a superb job of protecting Erik Ainge this season. Alabama's front seven is pretty weak, and the Crimson Tide probably will resort to pressuring the Vols man-to-man to make up for it. The big question for Alabama will be whether its secondary can hold up against the Vols' talented receiving corps if it's forced into a lot of man coverage.

The Crimson Tide haven't had to go on the road much this season; so far, they've traveled only to Arkansas and Florida (and lost both games). Although Alabama was able to play both those teams close, Tennessee's offense will be hard to stop. The Crimson Tide will need its running game to perform -- specifically, a big day from senior running back Kenneth Darby -- to pull off the upset at Rocky Top. "

Is it just me, or does ESPN always seem to gear the articles toward the Vols losing??! :finger3:

Just proves that if you want to see something bad enough, you will. All that article was missing was Rocky Top playing in the background. :dunno:
