Colin Kaepernick sits during national anthem

No.

Malcolm X taught us to love ourselves.

This society brainwashes us from birth to hate everything about ourselves. To hate our skin color. To hate our hair texture. To hate our homeland Africa that we came from. To hate each other.

Good. I'm glad you brought this up.

Yes, sports is one area where black people are stereotypical viewed as better. That we are bigger, stronger, faster, etc. Usually the words used are dehumanizing in nature. For example, athletes are described as "beasts" on the field.

Now reverse that sentiments for every other walk of life. That is white supremacy. The belief that white people are intellectually or morally superior to black people.

I have a problem with the racist nature at which black athletes are talked about. If you have a problem with that as well, why not have a problem with the way we're treated in every other walk of life?

So,

sterotypes = supremacy

But,

sterotypes =/= supremacy

You seem to have a problem. :hi:

I too would struggle to love a homeland that sold my ancestors into slavery.Especially seeing as though you use it for the basis as to why you and others like you think this country was never great.

Never did that experiment but when I was young I wanted to white. I was ashamed to black as a elementary student. Especially during February when they would teach us Slavery History Month...oops I mean Black History Month.

It wasn't until middle school when I began independently researching TRUE BLACK HISTORY beyond the garbage they teach us at school that I became PROUD to be black. I studied the great works of men like Ivan Van Sertima, John Henrik Clarke, and Chancellor Williams.

Before I educated myself on our true history I was the typical coon. I hated being black. Believed all the negative stereotypes that were being drilled into my head by the media and school. I wanted to be white because I thought white people were superior.

Thankfully that's not me anymore. But unfortunately that's true for many other black people who were not able to educate themselves like I was.

So if YOU (a black man) educated yourself to have pride in yourself, why can't you teach others the same if all the stuff you say is true?

Likewise, why couldn't other black men and women educate themselves in a similar fashion as you? And then in turn teach their families the same thing.

If all of the things you said are true, and you did all of the above like I suggested, wouldn't that mean blacks are actually ending the perception of racism and not whites? Meaning blacks can help solve racism.

Actually no.

The modern day concept of race in which people are categorized based on phenotype is an entirely new phenomenon in human history. It actually started in the 1500 with white europeans. Before that, people were only tribal. They viewed one another differently based on tribal or national affiliation. Race was something white people in the 1500s created.

For example, if you read the writing of the Ancient Greeks and Romans, they didn't consider themselves "white". They were just Greek or Roman. The Greeks famously wrote that they considered themselves superior to the Germanic tribes to the north because they were darker in skin tone and hair color but also superior to the Egyptians and Ethiopians to the south because they were lighter. They considered being too white or too black to be bad. And that they were the perfect medium between the two extremes.

What happened in 1500 with the rise of the trans-atlantic slave trade was white europeans before separated by nations and tribes came together under the cloak of WHITENESS. When before the English and Russian looked at themselves as different people, they now came under the umbrella of whiteness. And in turn Africans came under the umbrella of blackness regardless of the tribe or region they come from.
I have read all your posts, and now feel so enlightened. Thanks to you, I will release all my slaves soon. The guilt is eating me alive.

At what point did you no longer hate everything about yourself and where you are from?

When I started reading the works of great men like Ivan Van Sertima, Chancellor Williams, and John Henrik Clarke. Real academics on the history of black people in Africa and America.

President Nixon said that blacks are not nation builders. He also said blacks are 500 years behind whites in their development.

White supremacy 101.

Destroy Africa. Enslave Africans. Then claim they are behind whites in development.

If you didn't destroy our homeland and steal our people we wouldn't be in the predicament we are right now.

Somebody (and I don't mean whitey writ large) did a number on you.

Sorry you felt such self-loathing and I hope that is gone.

Completely disagree with your attribution of the source though.

LOL.

So you think black people just decided the bleach their skin and chemically straighten their hair out of the blue?

White supremacy has brainwashed our people to hate themselves. That's why an active black empowered educational system is critical for black children. We have to teach them their true history and worth rather than the hostile dominant society.

Who is going to teach this black empowered educational system? I thought it was on the whites to clean this mess up.

Not exactly.

Racism comes in 2 steps. 1. White aggression. 2. Black internalization.

Through education we can counter internalizing the ideology of white supremacy. However, that doesn't mean racism will end. No matter how proud a black man I am, I can still be killed by policeman in the streets. I can be sentenced to jail twice as long as a white man for committing the same crime. I can be denied a job having better qualifications than a white man and so on.

Black power helps us from internalizing the ideology of white supremacy. It doesn't save us from the effects of racism.

Lol, the whites didn't steal your people. Your own black people sold black slaves. You don't know dick and you claim to know black history.

I wish you well. You come across as quite jaded. I doubt you'll ever find peace but hope you do.

Its gonna take a lot to take me away from you
That song has THE most awkward lyric ever written.

-Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serenghetti.

I have always hated that part.

Good song otherwise.

I couldn't have lived with myself if I'd got rich off that song, with that line in it. I've scrapped songs that were good songs, and pretty much complete. Just because one line sucks and I couldn't replace it with anything better. I'd just stop working on it and never play it again. Its weird cause I'm not ocd about anything else like that.

To hate our homeland Africa that we came from. To hate each other.

Most black people I associate with don't know anything about the country of Africa much less care enough to hate it. I mean you are talking about generations of people removed. Your point is ridiculous.

I take that back they know the continent is pretty much a dump and are glad they live in N.America
