Colin Kaepernick sits during national anthem

He sucks. lol no surprise you’re rooting for him though
Do you think I'm rooting for him on his political objectives or do you think I'm just hoping he makes a team and possibly becomes a decent backup in case I need one later in the year? I certainly wouldn't be pulling for him if I have to play against him one week.

I'm just hoping I have some people like you in my fantasy league. Outside of fantasy football, I'm not a Seahawk fan or an Oilers fan or a fan of any of these teams. Its strictly about the gambling action for me.

All of these damn garbage QBs we've had to endure over the past few years and this guy has been on the sidelines. Ridiculous...

I was with you but it's been so long that I am skeptical now that he can be a decent QB

He can't be much worse than most of the guys they put in while they blackballed him. He's nor likely going to be as effective running as much as before, but he could be a decent backup for 2 or 3 games.

The guy hasn't played in 5 years, he's gonna suck no matter what. He just needs to retire his fro and remember his good days stirring up ****.

He was never blackballed. He had several opportunities to sign on as a backup and refused them all. One of those was for Pete Carroll and the Seahawks.

Yeah, he can make a team. Not sure he will.

No one blackballed him lol. He turned down playing

He could be just as productive as Matt Simms, Josh Freeman, EJ Manueal or any of those clowns that were playing while he was on the sidelines. Hell, if Nathan Peterman and Jeff Driskel were on teams last year, Kaepernick can be good enough to play.

Again, I'm not saying he is going to be a pro bowler. I'm simply saying he is no better or worse than the dogmeat they've run out here while he's been gone.

If he can play like he used to, hes a spectacular backup qb

Who GAS how good he is when he is a divisive person? Once you piss off the people that pay your salary, he can kiss everyones ass, but he still pissed off everyone.

That's all I'm saying. He may or may not be a starter, but he should be good enough to be able to scratch together 2-3 games and rack up some fantasy points if I'm in a pinch.

He pisses people off with his antics, what GM would want to risk pissing off the bill payers to hire a controversial prick?

He had a better QBR than Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, Jalen Hurts, Drew Lock, Marcus Mariota, and whoever the Saints are planning on starting at QB. Plus has better running upside than at least 4 of those guys. Pretty sure he had a better TD:INT ratio than all of them and had comparable completion percentage.

He was probably better than Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, and that rookie the Texans started last year.

In his prime he could easily hang in the middling tier of current NFL QBs like Tannehill, Carr, Hurts, Wentz, and Tua.

I don’t really care whether he didn’t get a second chance because of his politics or because he wasn’t willing to go through the Trubisky/Mariota path of sitting as a backup for a few years, but saying it’s because he couldn’t perform at that level is incorrect.

He's likely made more (and will continue to) from Nike, Netflix and the rest of his dupes than he would have in the NFL. My suspicion is he will reappear like this periodically at carefully planned moments to keep his victim hood alive.

Is he an idiot or a self-involved profiter disguised as a social do-gooder?

His best seasons are in no way similar to Tannehill’s nor Carr.

But those guys are young. The hope is to get somebody who will be good. Nobody cares about having a vet who is a little better than Drew Lock. Broncos just had that and didn't give a **** about it. They were immediately looking for an upgrade.

I understand, but I’m not saying he should be a starter going forward. I’m just looking at those guys as an analog for the bottom quartile or so of starters over the last 4 years or whatever, since he played.

Mariota, Darnold, Lock, Winston, and Trubisky are all on their second chance teams (although I think Winston has been better than those guys on the field). Fitzpatrick has been around a while with a bunch of teams. There’s always a market of bad teams looking for a guy to play as a credible starter while you tank for a QB in the draft, like what the Falcons and Seahawks are doing this year.

OK, so you only named two out of that group he named. I can replace either Carr or Tannehill with Baker Mayfield.

His best seasons aren’t comparable to Baker’s best either. The majority of his list was young QBs. Guys like Wilson and Tua who everyone knows aren’t great right now but that’s not why they’re starters.

Yeah, Mariota is a good comp because he's peaked. I'm just saying it makes sense for teams to choose a lesser QB right now to be a starter if he's young. If we're talking backups, Kapernick makes tons of sense in the right system. Kap makes no sense for the Colts but tons of sense for the Ravens.
