Colin Kaepernick sits during national anthem

Please tell me this ain't real. Whitlock is the best in the business.
I’m amazed a letter to an NFL organization was released. Colin knew he wasn’t getting a shot, but if he penned a letter after Rogers went down so he could somehow get back in the news. A lot of teams needed practice QB’s after training camps over the years and he’s never once penned a letter or at least leaked a letter. He knew attached to Rogers would get the biggest attention.

Sounds like a true media wh@@@

You gotta be kidding. The only reason you are saying this is because you agree politically with the things he says. You're probably one of the people that expressed lost interest in ESPN/sports talk because of how politicized it became. And here you're saying a guy who is not even known (anymore) for talking about the sports part of sports is the best in the business.

You can simultaneously think the NFL is a very problematic organization and push for change while also wanting to play in the NFL. If you love football you will want to play it at the highest level. This idea and this desire are not contradictory. Whitlock is smart enough to understand this, but he also has a job to do. Kaepernick would not be the first person in world history to hold his nose while making $ for his employer.

I actually credit Whitlock with changing my mind on college athlete pay. He made some really good points on a show with Bob Levy, once upon a time. Must've been 12-15 years ago. IDK if he still holds that position, but he kinda went the other way with almost everything I hear from him now.

Desire? Cmon dude.

You work for VN. You then sue VN. You then appear in a documentary on one of the most subscribed streaming services in the entire world and you compare VN to a slave plantation.

You seriously think Freak should or would hire you back?

Colin could have chose to not get drafted and make millions if he felt NFL Slavery was wrong. He chose to be like the thousands that played before him and those playing after. Sounds bitter because Tom Brady and his dad bod is the GOAT QB.

What does that got to do with my point?

I don't know what he would be thinking.

Should he not? Jemele Hill did too. How many letters to NFL teams get released to the public?
See my reply to Carl. This is a worthless story. People like Whitlock and Hill can't get traction talking about the actual sports, so they figure they can get clicks playing to a political base with this stuff.

Nah. I just think it's funny that people whine about identity politics in sports, but still follow people like Whitlock and Clay Travis while bemoaning Jemele Hill and Bomani Jones.
Well, there is a difference between them…. Hill is nothing but a race baiting idiot and Jones isn’t much better.

I tend to agree, but CK is a disgusting rat bastard so I’m glad someone put it out there

I'm not sure how it's relevant to anything in the first place. Dude hasn't played in years and wasn't that great to start with. The only thing putting the story out does is give him attention.

Regardless of who’s commenting, why was a lettered penned to an NFL team and released? He’s already shown he’s not doing it get back into the league based on his falcons debacle years ago. I’ve only ready tweets by Hill so not sure what the others are saying.
