Colin Powell Died

First, I edited my post; I would never say "they was".
Second, Biden is not motivated by greed to anywhere near the extent as is Trump.

BS. Biden's means were a little more limiting because of his choice of occupations. If you look at quest for power and greed as being two sides of the same coin, there's absolutely no difference.

I simply disagree.
All politicians are not equally greedy.
All doctors are not equally greedy.
All lawyers are not equally greedy.
All preachers are not equally greedy.
All real estate developers are not equally greedy.
All volnation posters are not equally greedy.
You get the point.
Trump has been absolutely obsessed with greed his entire life.

So you're saying you see greed as relative, and Trump's is excessive ... to you. I'd say that excessive greed for power and wealth are always relative, and it's rare that we ever know the extent of it in any person. You see Trump's excess in using wealth as a measure of his "success". It's actually there in any narcissist - whether an actor, a politician, an investor, a gang lord, a collector (even of fine art), a sexual predator etc; each has his own lust for material trappings and/or power - and, yes, the degree can vary or even wax and wane. You simply choose to select one and excuse the rest. Not all of humankind is so driven, but there is an element that is, and you won't find many (if any) in a position of power certainly in high federal office without that lust.

Just to make sure, you're not excusing Trump are you? He's a terrible person, whether Biden, Pelosi, or whoever you want to compare to him to is or not.

Edit: im not sure where the argument started, and I don't care to go back and look, but I don't buy the "Trump is okay because somebody else is a butthead" argument.

No. I never liked Trump or anything he stands for; like you and many others, I think he's a despicable person. I would have flat out told anyone that I'd never vote for Trump for president when first mentioned. The truth is I did twice, the second time it wasn't just about the opposing candidate either. He made some of the wisest policy decisions as president that have been made in recent history, but he's still an ass. I am absolutely put off by the display of wealth and his passion for it. I hate that he was able to separate his wealth from his business bankruptcies - but a bought and sold congress made that possible. Trump and others just used what was provided.

I'm kind of old school, my grandmother would have smacked the taste out of my mouth (even today if she were still alive) if I acted like Trump in public. Probably in private too. I just can't respect or support somebody like that. Granted I'm kind of a smart-ass but Trump is just uncouth.

I was brought up that way, too. Maybe I'm missing the real trigger, but stuff like social media, cellphones for selfies, and especially reality TV seem to have conspired to see to it that quiet un-provocative behavior is no longer respected. The class clown has moved from jester to king. Apparently if you can't or won't put it on display, you've done nothing with your life. It's always been there - dress, cars (carriages before), estates, but we're at Roman Empire collapse flagrancy level now.

You and I could support an honest, low key, high intellect, wise choice for office; that candidate would never make it to or certainly through the primaries. Although I don't care for her political thoughts the only person close on the national stage to meeting any of those qualifications happens to be a dem - Tulsi Gabbard.

You realize you just described most politicians? I seem to recall many on the right and left piling on obviously baseless claims for political purposes.

If you're going to call it out call it all out or quit complaining.

You're right, for appearances he should let his surrogates and lapdogs in the media do it for him like every other high profile political figure does.

All that really changes is the appearance though. The fact is they all do it. Perhaps it's even refreshing to some that he does his own dirty work. Personally I just think he can't help himself. But make no mistake they all do it, you're just hung up on appearances and window dressing.

I already knew for a fact there wasn't anyone else. Plus you completely moved the goalposts. Refreshing? Just stop with stupidass rationalizations

I'm rationalizing nothing other than why some of his supporters may love his rhetoric, I moved zero goalposts. I'd love to hear you take issue with anything in my post and explain how it isn't correct.

Edited: above to better reflect my prior statement and clarification.
