Amherst College vs. Williams College? What am I missing here. (I know we don't care about Gameday, I just don't get it)

Well the "biggest" game this week is Georgia and Auburn. If they went there they would be promoting a CBS game.

I'm sure this game is the longest running rivalry or some business like that.

They do one of these every year. No different than the last 5 or so years they have done it.

They jumped the shark when they went to VT for the VT vs. ECU game. I used to get up and not miss Gameday, now I could really care less because I know what to expect.

Corso puts on a mascot head.

The only reason I might tune in is to catch how original the signs in the background might get.

More weirdness in a already weird year. Gameday to me is growing stale or maybe i'am just getting old. I don't know its kinda like a new car when the new wears off.

There is a reason...something about them breaking an NCAA record if they win. I forget the whole reason, but still. Who's going to show up? All 149 students?

ESPN's College GameDay will originate Saturday from Williamstown, Mass., site of the football game between Amherst and Williams in the 122nd meeting between these rivals.

The show will air at 10 a.m. on ESPN.

Williams leads the series 68-48-5. It's Division III's most-played rivalry and has been played in front of crowds as large as 13,671 at Williams in 1993 and 12,449 at Amherst in 1996.

There was a huge UT flag in the background when they were set up at the Oregon vs Arizona State game.

Florida-UK was a CBS game this year.

it will be at the Williams-Amherst game

this isn't the first time they have gone to schools outside division 1A they did Harvard-Penn a few years back and then Grambling-Southern in '05

Yeah...and they've done Notre Dame / Michigan before as well....they don't always stick to D 1A.

They have been to numerous stadiums which were going to be televised on CBS. I don't think they necessarily pick based on the network.

This is a big time division III game. They SHOULD do one of these every year.
